Update 2.27.2.15

Br changes is a nice start to fixing the game.
but, when can we expect FSR 2 support in game? Its been requested for over 3 years now.
lot of people still have issues ruining the game sine all the engine upgraded.

The first BR spread was 0.7 later changed to 1.0.

Nice joke.

Im not opposed to improve the game but just a idiot think those changes are good.

Okay. That clarification helps me understand.
It’s clear Gaijin is focusing on decompression, let’s be patient & see what happens while giving passive & active feedback.
Let’s not demand 0.7 matchmaking when it’s clear they’re decompressing, and for one other fact.

1.0 matchmaking has 4 steps for fine-control of balancing vehicles, 0.7 only has 3.
So you can have 4 similar but different vehicles less compressed in a 1.0 matchmaker, which is a superior balance.

Decompressing the BRs seems cool and all but what about premium vehicles - don‘t see any of those in the doc?
Just gave all the premium vehicles even more of a br advantage… another pay to win update ig

I mean the is 6 went up and they tried to move the t 29 up. Plus the cent 5/1. So is what I noticed

Just stop regurgitating this nonsense… We’ve heard it enough in the feedback thread, and no one else agrees with you.

It’s not nonsense.
4 steps makes it easier to balance 4 similar but different vehicles than 3 steps does.
It’s simple math.
BTW Compression is to reduce.

I don’t think you even understand what “compression” means in the first place…

Reduce what? The number of vehicles within a BR spread? Wrong.

Compression is the qualitative performance difference between vehicles within a BR spread. In a 1.0 spread, a 7.0 vehicle can see vehicles up to 8.0 or down to 6.0. In a 0.7 spread, that vehicle can see vehicles up to 7.7 or down to 6.3. It’s clear that the latter option has a less qualitative performance difference between vehicles that can potentially see each other in matches, and therefore less compression and a more balanced game.

Decompression is superior to a worse matchmaker.
0.7 is inferior, this is common knowledge.
1.0 + decompression is 2x the decompression.

LOL you can’t even write up a proper counter-argument. Please explain in detail why you think 0.7 is inferior.

I’m not against decompression LMFAO.

Changing to 0.7 spread is exactly the same as moving a 6.0 vehicle down to 5.7 so it can’t see 7.0s, or moving a 8.0 vehicle up to 8.3 so that 7.0s can’t see it. Only this way, the decompression affects the entire range of BRs from 1.0 to 12.0 instead of affecting just a certain range of BRs and moving the compression to a different BR range.

that no one else agrees…

No, making it 0.7 reduces the options for balancing from 4 to 3, a compression. As 3 is a more compressed number than 4.
It’s easier to balance Tiger 2, IS-3, IS-6, and Maus with 4 step match maker than it is a 3 step match maker, as an example.

You just can’t get it into your head, can you?

Reducing the steps of vehicles from 4 to 3 isn’t compression when the vehicles at the top or bottom of that bracket aren’t being moved down or up at the same time…

The problem with Tiger 2, IS-3, IS-6, and Maus, or any other vehicles that are suffering from compression are(were) the fact that they can see much better vehicles that have 1.0 higher BR. They will suffer less if they can see only up to 0.7 up. Is this so hard to understand?

It’s compression because it makes balancing 4 different vehicles harder.
You have IS-6 & ISi3 as the same BR again.
Or Maus and IS-6 being the same BR.
Tiger-2, IS-3, IS-6, & Maus are not compressed with each other.
They’re all similar but different vehicles, all capable of killing each other, just with different characteristics.

I give up… Shouldn’t even have tried in the first place…

Feedback:

A couple of BR get it worse on this update.

Moving up the Merkava Mk1B and 2B to 9.3 means 1970’s tanks are fighting Modernas and T-80’s. Since the 10.3 and 10.0 are very common it means 10 or 10.3 every game.

Moving Merkava Mk3 means now every game is 11.7.
This is actual data from me recording tiers:

Out of 10 rounds this is the result playing a tier 11.0 AB Merkava mk.3
11.7
11.7
11.7
11.7
11.3
11.7
11.7
11.7
11.7
11.7

Suggestion:

I agree with the idea of the changes, but I think it was stopped short. you should have moved everything up instead of just the middle area. Compressing 70’s tanks to fight 90’s tanks with 120’s is just as bad as 50’s tanks fighting 70’s tanks.

Dont wasted your time. Just ignore him.

Bring back the old 0.7 BR spread is the only chance for balance the game.
