Up and Downtiers schould be restricted to 0.5-0.7 above or under the own br

Uptiers are extremly painfull! Especially in air rb. for example when you’re at 11.3 in a tornado ids and you are most likely to face aim9s or other HEATSEEKERS at this battleraitng. And then BOOM uptier to 12.3 or even 12.7 and you get an aim7 or sometimes even an aim120 shoved up your ass. And there is nothing to doge that in something like a tornado.
So gaijin please fix your matchmaking. IK it would make matchmaking take longer but i think its worth it, since everyone would have more fun

Decompressing 13.0 would fix 11.3 quite easily.

12.3 and up needs more decompression.
Mig 23s and Kfirs shouldn’t be fighting Hornets imo
Especially things like the non ADV tornadoes like mention, need urgent help, and have needed it since the ASSTA and GR1 were added

Not really. And even if so its not happening

+/- 0.7 is the best solution but that isnt happening either.

Gaijiin makes it like this on purpose. Best we will get is 14.7 when more OP shit drops. Game of cope

The problem with 0.7 / 0.5 is that vehicles of the same BR will still be unbalanced.
Stuff like the T-64A is quite abysmal for 9.3 (it’s worse than the T-72A and yet is at the same BR).
If we move the T-64A down, it would be at the same BR as the T-55AM-1, which is worse than the T-64A.
If we move up the T-72A instead, the T-72A would be worse than the T-64B… etc.
We could move the T-64B to 10.0 and move the T-72A to 9.7 but is the T-72A really worth 9.7?

The only real way to balance this is by decompressing the MAX BR range.

Thats the inherent way the game is.

Theres no way to completly balance it looking at it that way.

Well if there were a larger range of BRs, they may not need to be 0.3 BR different from one another.

What’s 0.5? That doesn’t exist in the BR-system.

x.0, x.3, x.7 only…

Take sabres
1 vic has 8.0 to.9.3 BR

How many BRs would there have to be?

Doesn’t fix compression, its like putting a plaster on a broken arm.

Give an example of what would be left unfair…

Every massive balancing issue goes

Mig 15 vs mig 19. Mig 19 vs 20g + missiles for eg no more

If you want balancing to the extent a mig 15 doesnt face mig 17 its dreamland

I don’t know but the Sabres are fairly balanced amongst themselves. (CL-13 Mk.6 should be 9.3 to be honest).
I think a max BR of 15.0/16.0 would definitely be enough. (Currently it’s 14.3 for ARB and 13.0 for GRB)

@tokerstar
0.7 BR compression of the matchmaker is a problem, a bad idea.
4 units is superior to 3 units for balancing. It’s basic math.

Decompression requires less work because you don’t have to rebalance all vehicles in the game with decompression.

The Mig-19 wins against the 20G missile launcher 100% of the time due to better dogfight performance.

War thunder isnt 1 vs 1.

Glad you agree.
War Thunder also isn’t a 3v1.
It’s a team game, and when teams do equal team work, the Mig-19 cannot die.

Give an example

12.0 doesnt face fox 3 for eg anymore with less range of MM.

Most issues go away. If not eleborate

Not true.

A team of mig19s vs a team of j35xs isnt ending well.for mig

Fox 3s are the least of 12.0’s worries when F-18A exists due to F-15A being 13.0.
F-15A and Su-27/33 are by far the strongest 13.0s in the game.
And decompressing 13.0 by 0.3 saves 12.0 from practically every worst-case situation as F-18A would move to 13.0 where it belongs, and a maximum of 4 would exist per team.

And as much as someone might want to argue Tornado F3 Late is as good or better than F-15A… it isn’t.
Air RB is a game mode where flight performance will always matter at the end of the day; with missiles being the 2nd most important thing.
Flares being more important than 9Ls onward.

Well there should be same amount of 10.3s on both teams. The team of J35XS would be facing a team of F8U-2s, for example.

But I get your point – it is annoying that flareless 9.3s / 9.7s can face a 10.3 (like the J35XS) that can carry 6x 20G missiles.

But you can fix the problem by moving up the 10.3 vehicles to 10.7, and then the 10.7s to 11.0, and so on. This would also give room to decompress specific BRs like the T-64A example I had given you.
