I’m sorry but when I am flying in my F4-J or any other 12.0 plane I despise fox-3s being able to just click and get kills, and before anyone says 'JuSt cHaFF bRo" or “JuSt NoTch BrO.” thing is that when flying planes that don’t have a modern enough RWR, (f4s I’m looking at you) the only way to even realize that there’s a missile hurdling straight to you is A. be constantly paying attention or B. listen for a quiet little sound and by then it’s too late to notch or chaff.

Wear headphones or turn up the RWR sound.
The AMRAAMs on the harrier are sucky unless you let them get within 15km because of the horrible launch platform and the J-8F’s Pl-12s are alright but unless fired well within the range of your AIM-7F going cold will defeat them.
Overall more decompression is needed but planes such as the F-4J are more than capable of dealing with them only in a full uptier.

I agree with the OP. I think there should be an option box and you check it and if you do not have AHM/Fox 3 missiles then you will not be in a match that has Fox-3, even the AV-8 AIM-120’s are OP, you can fly right side and get 3 or 4 kills by just spamming them. Only other missile that is close to a FOX 3 would be the R27E(RT) family. At this point the Active missiles are too much of an advantage against SARH. That is why IRL no one really uses SARH anymore.

But yeah in all fairness, ARH is quite the advantage, and now some planes with only IR missiles are facing it… which really sucks man. (Looking at you Netz and Kurnass 2K)

F4J, FGR, FG, J(UK), EJ Kai, Kurnass 2K, at least 4S has the option to mount 6 sparrow for a better headon capability + HMD for slaving off-bore shots.
KWS-LV was just getting the short end of the german stick, that airframe is already sad but having to face demonic 13.0 like M4K, F-15A/J/Baz, 29G, and Gripen.

Not reliable. Notching alone rarely works.
thus the flares and the immediate Notching at any radar contact in the hopes that you wont even be locked in the first place
best way to dodge is turn on the radar althimeter and stay in the redzone so you can multi path missiles
