Why are there so many unsolved bugs in this game? Examples are: ghost shells, damage models, flight models, map exploits, sound bugs, etc. those and much more keep cropping up in community discussions. Why don’t they fix those issues? I face so many issues in every round, be it that nearby have no sound, be it that tanks pop up, be it that angles are incorrect (i.e. it is different from the enemy to me or vice versa) Be it that you can shoot through ground etc etc etc etc.
Ghost shells are not a thing anymore. Any seemingly-disappeared rounds are a desync thing now, which is a separate issue.
Damage models as far as I’m aware have no bugs.
Nor do flight models.
Map exploit?
Sound issues are alleviated by manually selecting Stereo in audio settings, but that is the one thing that does have active bug reports on.
You cannot shoot through the ground BTW.
There are still MBT´s which can be killed with a 50cal.
For example there is the Type90, which can be killed by mg when you shoot slightly above the barrel(got killed by a turms this way a few months ago).
havent read a fix for it(have heard this bug is known), so I guess it is still in place.
Man - you are way too experienced to tell here some fairy tales.
The OP is imho correct, gaijin simply prioritizes bug reports regarding their impact on own earnings (sales) vs SL & RP gains for players - whilst doing a plain cost efficiency calculation (is fixing the bugs worth the financial investment or not).
I mean if you are not blind you see a lot of extremely annoying issues which are known for years but simply ignored - most prominent the “RP get lost bug”.
A few other examples:
- Certain low caliber rounds simply de-render after certain distances
- FMs are implemented at will, most prominent lack of high speed lock ups of A6Ms
- Unbalanced maps which create auto-ticket wins (Air RB)
This list is endless…
bro its one of the most realistic games right now and of course its gonna have bugs because gaijin servers are a overheated Nokia and when u have a game this realistic its hard to fix bugs.
I hate to bring this up every time someone says War Thunder is realistic — even World of Tanks has a better logic of physics. Driving a vehicle is like carrying three bodies around, and the vehicles feels like glued to the ground, War Thunder is far from a realistic game.
ehhh i agree but i also disagree
This is so true dude, concerningly true. They dont fix bugs because its a bug, they only fix bugs because it benefits them
Air RB AI doesn’t reduce tickets as of a few major updates ago.
All vehicles have flight models, and if you think a vehicle is over-performing, that is what the bug report system is for.
Also RP lost bug was never ignored, never. Its fix is being introduced this next major update.
Bugs can take years to find and fix, or a day.
It depends on how complicated the code adventure is.
@Константинович7
Right now the physics of War Thunder is tanks aren’t sticky enough to the ground.
Ghost shells are to do with desync, I even had a person posting a video about them shooting directly at the target, but they had a damaged elevation drive so on the server replay they shot the ground even though thier round hit the vehicle in mid.
It’s so common that people want to blame the game, but they HAVE to actually take on board the possible reasons, so they can actually find the truth. Many here, and in the game, don’t hold that quality.
I’m sorry, but your answer doesn’t address the actual errors:
- Ghost shells, whether desync or something else…it’s an error
- No more model errors??? Then just read the x reports
- Sound errors: If I advertise a game and promote the “outstanding” sound in it, then surely the solution is NOT to switch from surround to stereo???
- You CANNOT shoot through the ground??? Then you probably haven’t seen the X reports about it or you block it out every time you see it. YOU can definitely shoot through hills in the gunner view.
It’s not when it comes down to client-side packetloss, through users using wifi, or by having higher ping.
And desync happens, it’s all dependent on where it is actually coming from, many of those who say they have this, don’t, and won’t check…
3- War Thunder does not have Surround Sound audio. It’s stereo exclusive, as are most games. Anything more than stereo is faked.
4- No, you cannot shoot through hills. This is not a thing.
I dont know which game you play, but certainly not Warthunder!
Here are some OFFICIAL statements from Gaijin according sound (reserched with ChatGPT):
Positional audio
Gaijin claims that you can tell from the sound, for example, whether a plane is above or below, and from which direction a tank is driving.
Quote (from the English forum):
“Sound plays a crucial role in immersion. You should be able to hear where an enemy tank or aircraft is approaching from and what type of gun was fired. This helps you react more quickly.”
If you have only a slight knowledge of Stereo then you understand that your claim about it is impossible with Gaijins claims!!!
Shooting through ground: I can bring sources you only bring a claim that you repeat like a tibetan prayerdrum :-)
Here you go…just one of many!!! Unofficial explanations from the developers (interviews / streams)
Dev streams or Q&As:
From time to time, developers are active in the official War Thunder streams or Q&A sessions. There, questions about “unjustified bullet penetration” (through the ground / walls) are usually answered like this (roughly):
“There can be issues with the terrain mesh or with old collision models, but we fix them whenever we confirm the specific location. Please report if you see it happening.”
Not an intentional mechanic:
Gaijin has repeatedly made it clear that letting projectiles through solid terrain or objects is not an intentional or integrated mechanic. It is always a bug, be it due to the map geometry or the netcode syncing.
You trust that? Jesus… Someone would be able to say that gaijin says those things and GPT would likely say they said that…
Surround Sound and the benefits of actually using such things.
Sorry no offense but with such a statement, i have to say that your really don’t know how ChatGPT works :-)
Throw Volumetric in there while you’re at it, thats still an issue in many models (Rounds choking on random geometry or intersections between armour plates)
