Un-realistic overperformance from M-51 (Israel)

Israel is a minor nation, so it tends to only get played by tryhards and long time veterans of the game, so they know how to mitigate the bad gun handling, armor, and mobility of the M51. The HEAT round is good, yes, but HEAT is not very consistent and requires a high level of tank knowledge and shot placement to keep it from scamming you at a critical moment and costing you your tank.

Overall, considering any APHE will pen and kill it at 6.0 and most ww2 tanks actually have better gun handling and muzzle velocity than the M-51, if you’re dying to it it’s usually that your reflexes or shot placement failed you. It’s like losing a duel with an ISU-152. It’s not a mystery it’s going to hurt if it shoots you, but there are times when you can obviously push it and win and times when you can obviously push it and get rekt.

Next player with negavive K/D crying because a tank, that is usable at best killed him.

This is what i like to call, the “Conqueror-syndrome”.

You think, that a single stat of the tank makes the tank OP. Spoiler alert: It does not.

The Leo is very fast, has APDS, that is just better, than HEAT.

The M-51 is big, slow, the gun whobbles like a bloody ZiS-30 (which is a tractor with a gun), the gun is bellow average.
The only thing it has is high penetration, that literally means nothing.

The Concept 3 is from the mid '70s, yet it fights Panzer 4s, and it is bad at even there.

If the game had historical MM, then your little Panzer 2 would fight at best case a bunch of T-34s, and KV-1s, and at worst, IS-7s.

And then, a H-39, that is useless against interwar tanks, now would have to fight Abrams and T-72 tanks at worst, Centurions, T-54s, and IS tanks at best.

Then what is an M-51?

And this is a Stuart upgunned, and still in service in Chile. Should then it fight Leo 2 A7s?

Those at least stand a chance xd.

Until other german tanks face an IS-7. Or rater, and other WWII and early cold war tank.

HACKER!4!4!4!4!

It can. You just lade the worst possible shot.
You should have aimed there:

It could take a buff, but there is nothing with which it could be. It also does not need a buff. it is fine.

Now, let’s see what tanks are out of BR according to their dates:
IKV 72 - from the '50s, with 63mm pen.
Pbv 301 - from the '60s, with a 20mm cannon, it is painfully slow, has no armor.
Sav m/43 (1946). Paper armor, with high pen, but trash HEAT.
Pvkv m/46, and other Pvkv tanks.
Pvkv 4, which is truly awful against 3.7 tanks…
Ikv 103, from the '60s, with 400mm HEAT-FS, yet it is still trash. It was introduced at like 7.0 or somethign, and since it is 4.0…
Strv 74…

Now, let’s see other tanks, suffering from the “Conqueror-syndrome”:
Sturer Emil - it has the gun of the Maus at 4.3. Still trash.
Dicker Max - A bit better Emil.
PT76 - 200mm HEAT and fully stabilized at 5.0. Still awful.
British 17 pdr with APDS. Useless.
Swedish APDS at low tier. It wasn’t OP before the APDS nerfs, since then it is useless.

Excuse me, but I shot a light vehicle into the side with a variation of HE, that BMP-2M should have crumbled. Overpressure and whatnot.

Gaijin thinks that having an 8.0 gun at 6.0 is perfectly balanced. Why complain?

KwK 36 on 4.0. What about this?

Sweden is busted at many BRs, people cry russian bias but in reality there is mostly swedish bias in the game.

They do seem to be the new favorites.

Wait, what?

My favorite is the sav 20.12.48. I love having a 120mm with a 1.2sec autoloader at 3.7.

Smh, we both know the Chieftan could plausibly face the revolutionary Renault FT.

If I buy a collector’s Sherman and install a new machine gun on it, would I be able to say it was produced in 2023 and should therefore be 11.7?

… 12.7 … at least.

It has 13mm HHA (around 14mm effective) on the side. It’s HE penetration value sits around 14mm, but it does not guarantee overpressure triggering.

There was no russian bias involved there, you are just coping.

It was used by Israel during the cold war. So depending on the implementation on a supposed historical MM, it could fight late cold war MBTs.

Ah, but this is a comperatively good matchup compared to the Renault FT which would need to Fight M1A2 tanks as apperantly some were found Afghanistan in 2003.

Have you even played the M-51? It’s not bad but it’s also not that good.
