Ukrainian made planes

UKRAINIAN LBL
(Legkiy Boiviy Litak)

People say that main reason Ukraine will not be added to the game in any form is because there will not be any new and iconic vehicles, and it would just be copy paste

However

I did some digging and found some Ukrainian concept aircraft
Here is what i found

On 15 March, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced plans for a new Lightweight Combat Aircraft (LBL) to replace the Soviet-era L-39, Su-25, and MiG-29.

The aircraft, called Legkiy Boiviy Litak (LBL), was presented in mock-up form during a visit to the Ivchenko-Progress engine bureau and remains in the conceptual design stage. It reportedly resembles the Chinese L-15 and the Iranian Shafaq.

The LBL is planned as a two-seat trainer and light attack aircraft, developed by the National Aerospace University – Kharkiv Aviation Institute in partnership with Motor Sich. It would use engines based on the AI-225-25 or AI-322F and feature a mix of Western and Ukrainian avionics. It is expected to:

  • carry a 3,000 kg combat load
  • reach a maximum speed of 1,040 km/h
  • have a service ceiling of 14,000 meters, and a range of 780 km
The aircraft can carry weapons, suspended fuel tanks, reconnaissance pods and a range of electronic warfare pods including radar jammers and infrared countermeasures.

ts is less paper than some paper plane in war thunder.

better just add some unique ukrain plane rather than fentasy.

like the mig29 or su27 or even scalp su24.

We have things like R2Y2 which was never built irl

Those planes were added because Japan was seriously lacking at top tier back then. R2Y2 was removed already. Same goes for f16aj but its not removed yet. Techinicaly by Gaijin’s standards they should remove the f16aj by now. Ukraine doesn’t have a tech tree and theres no urgent need to implement these planes anywhere. There are other planes from other nations of importance that needs to be added first from poland, korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, and so much more. Plus Ukraine can only be added to the already full Russian tech tree as it doesn’t fit anywhere else. Devs could treat the ukrainian planes like singapore as fill the gaps in any nation country but then again these are paper planes. Definitely low priority for Gaijin.

Saying that we have the R2Y2 would actually work against it being added rather than for it since Gaijin has openly admitted that was a mistake and not a precedent they want to repeat… The LBL’s case isn’t helped either by it being a hypothetical top tier jet rather than some early jet or late prop, since top tier is exactly where the heaviest scrutiny comes in for balancing and flight models. Not to mention you’d ideally need precise thrust curves, radar specs, exact weapon integration details, RCS data, flight model data etc (or at least a somewhat concrete semblance of…). and none of that exists for the LBL cause it was never built or even properly designed past the concept stage. I mean we can look past that stuff for a prop here and there but I really don’t think they’d throw the baby out the window adding some mythical top tier jet based on a press conference and a mockup.

I’m not saying that the LBL should ever get added, I actually think it is very unlikely that it would ever be added.
What I’m trying to tell people is that Ukraine being a “copy paste tech tree” is a false statement because there are many, many iconic vehicles we can get out of Ukraine.
There are a lot of iconic ground vehicles being operated by Ukraine unlike aircraft therefore if Ukraine were ever to be added, aircraft such as the LBL could fit in well

Quoting would’ve helped the point be less blurry to me, sorry.

I do agree with this! We could definetly get the Bulat, BMP-1UD, BTR-4, BMPT-84 and T-55-64 to name a few (of the few that exist and are particularly plausably exist anyways). I don’t see a lot in the bucket for aircraft apart from maybe some peppering with the Mi-2MSB-V and Yak-52B that would fit in much better than the LBL would. I guess the statement it more or less a half-truth as to what concerns the aircraft side besides maybe helicopters.

Sorry about that, I’m on mobile right now not all features are accessible to me.

On the topic of iconic aircraft for Ukraine we have the Antonov M Masha/Istribitel

I don’t know how real this is but from what I found Antonov Istrebitel was planned to be built with wooden models being made but no real prototype was every built

Based on my research there are many Ukraine modified versions of planes like Su 27, MiG 29, Su 25 and etc that Ukraine operated/operates

There is also a Ukrainian upgraded r60 missile which the Ukrainians tuned in to an air to ground missile
Very interesting…
