Modernized T-80U with T-90M package
My opinion is this that it should require grinding USSR up to rank 7 and should start as independent TT from first western vehicles, Ukrainian vehicles from rank 1-6 can be USSR TT and ranks 7 and 8 could be in independent TT, so USSR wouldn’t get a lot of western technology.
Just mix Poland, Ukraine and some other nations in one big tree and call it a day
Players would be happy, gaijin really happy with all new premium tanks and planes, everybody happy, except ussr players, but that would make others happy
I wouldn’t be happy :(
No, Poland has enough stuff for their own complete TT with little space for a Subtree, Ukraine has roo much stuff to be a Subtree. And Poland has far superior better overall TT specially because of the unique low tier and funny prototypes. So no Poland and Ukraine have no place together
You don’t want to see smaller nations in game?
Well, if they added Ukraine to a future Polish TT as a Sub TT, Poland could have Battleships in its naval tech tree. Just food for thought. I think it would probably be the best solution overall, though. Least controversial option by far.
An-196 Liutyi could now possibly be a candidate for an indigenous UCAV

Also for infantry, we could have the upgraded and unmanned BRDM-2 with a new engine, transmission and more armour
I doubt casevac and logistic drones will be suitable for infantry but there’s still some interesting stuff shown during the parade.
I don’t know what other people’s opinion on this is, but I am not opposed to a Ukranian tree, though I kind of think a ‘eastern europe’ tree would probably have a greater chance of being added and having full vehicles at all eras. Like for Pre-WW2 and WW2, they did eastern europe vehicles like Poland and stuff, then Cold War they did “Eastern Bloc” with soviet vehicles (which would greatly benefit the SB community instead of adding soviet tanks to german and italian trees), then post-cold war they did eastern europe again that is west of Russia (Poland again and stuff, to Ukraine), I think that would be pretty cool as a good full-tech tree.
I don’t know if it’s been suggested like this before or anything but I think that could be a beneficial way to add Ukraine but also get vehicles of almost all eras into the tree, and be relevant in all eras as well as all gamemodes (I know most people don’t care about SB anymore sadly but adding more nations that could fight on the Warsaw Pact side of cold war eras could be nice for queue times and realism).
To be fair, East Germany did fully use soviet origin vehicles (and would modify some iirc) and quite a few would be inherited during reunification. Even with Switzerland as a sub, a good amount of options for German air would be lost.
There’s been a few ideas floated and a suggestion made as seen below.
While in theory it would be nice there’s a couple of problems imo with a conglomerate tree.
- Who is included? Now with Dual Korea approaching, it sets a precedent that coalition trees are viable additions. Problem is that the number of countries isn’t certain. Also EE tree concepts have vastly different countries included.
Some like Czechoslovakia, Poland and Yugoslavia have a good amount of options across the board (barring Czechoslovakian navy of course). Ukraine has a lot of ground options but lacks enough domestic air options for a tree (from what I recall 1 SU-25, 1 Mirage 2K, 2 Mig-29, 2 Su-27, 3 L-39s and a prop plane with R-73). The Baltics and Georgia have a few nice options but not a ton. As far as I’m aware Moldova and Bulgaria have 2 unique ground units though I suspect I’m missing some. Belarus wpuld have a decent amount of ground but probably wouldn’t fit since it’s aligned with Russia in contrast to most of EE being either part of NATO or neutral.
- Not enough room for ground. Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia all have enough for a ground tree of their own, not to mention Ukraine has a very good selection at higher tiers + options from others but with the 3 vehicle/folder limit per line in a tier, there probably won’t be enough room for all of EE to be represented well. Air, naval and Heli might have enough room but ground most likely won’t.
One thing I will agree is having more redfor or neutral orientated trees would be nice considering 6/10 of the lead trees are NATO members (yes I know most ex Warsaw Pact, Yugoslav and USSR counties in Europe are now in NATO but still).
Does anyone know if the 2S1Us were ever built? It wouldn’t be anything ground breaking (only difference would be using a MT-LBu chassis instead of the MT-LB) but could be something to make the spg line a bit more unique.
+1 with a mix of Eastern and Western vehicles
