Technically Ukraine could be placed under USSR since USSR includes Ukraine.

What do you mean “no”? Is Ukraine not part of the USSR? Ukraine is second to Russia in inheriting weapons from the Soviet Union. Why should the USSR tree suddenly become a “Russia only” tree?

If the USSR indeed becomes a Russia only tree then maybe gaijin should just add only USSR vehicles to the USSR tree and make a separate Russia tree then.

In a Ukraine or Eastern Europe tech tree, there would be absolutely little to nothing to fill for vehicles outside of the 21st Century. Adding Ukraine and former USSR nations to the USSR, which is a tree that they should belong to because the USSR tree is not called a Russia tree, makes adding Ukrainian and other former USSR state’s vehicles much easier

1 the RUSSIAN tech tree does not need Ukrainian vehicles or a sub-tech tree at all. Because the Russian tech tree is already too big.
2 it would have been controversial even before the war to add Ukraine to the Russian tech tree and its even more so NOW.
