Ukraine Ground Forces Tree

I just hope that he is okay and alive. Because I haven’t seen him active for a long time…

Easy solution. Don’t include too many western vehicles.
Also, Ukraine should be implemented like Israel is - once you’ve unlocked rank 5 in other nations (whichever you prefer: USSR, USA, GB, FR, SWE, DEU, IT) , you should be able to research Ukrainian tech tree. Russian tree can have all their cool toys this way. They have plenty of one off prototypes and small series produced vehicles, cough-cough T-14 cough-cough (but really the objects 490, 195, 187 and so on)

only after researching rank VII in the USSR tech tree the Ukrainian tech tree should be unlocked (with only tanks from rank VI and higher, vehicles they stil use nowadays. Not the ww2 stuff)

I found another vehicle that had the Shturm-S turret or the very least prototyped it, the Fahd APC

Pretty legit find. It’s cool to see the few vehicles that Ukraine has assisted Egypt in modifying.

Thank you

I find the history of Egyptian armoured vehicles to be quite interesting and the Joint Egypto-Ukrainian developments/upgrades are no exception to this. Also Ukraine did further upgrades on Egyptian T-62’s (Egypt already upgraded their T-62’s since the 1980’s onwards) though there is a chance that upgrade might be already in the honorable mentions tab

Finally another thing Greece is donating their remaining BMP-1’s to Ukraine in exchange for Marder 1A3’s from Germany, Greece already sold off at least 200 BMP-1’s to Iraq and Egypt leaving around 169 operational BMP-1’s left. If you are wondering Greece has 2 variants, the BMP-1A1GR (it essentially omits the ATGM for a M2HB 50.cal among other changes) and a SPAA variant of the BMP-1 consisting of a ZU-23-2 autocannon

But we do, were post 1991. The USSR is dead comrade

Yes, that is the main idea. Your thoughts coincide with those of the author of the discussion. But why is it necessary to level up to the 7th rank to open the 6th rank?

As most of the vehicles aren’t of Ukranian origin, what emblem do you propose is placed alongside the names of captured/traded vehicles?

Out of 99 vehicles, I counted 6 pieces of equipment that were supplied/sold to Ukraine. And 5 that were not produced in Ukraine during the Soviet era, but were in service in Ukraine.
So we have a total of 11 out of 99 weapons that were not produced in Ukraine but were in service (by the way, the Germans have 12 out of 135). I assume that this is not a large number of “borrowed” vehicles and that they can be fitted with the emblems of the countries where they were produced.

+1 But I’m confused by the fact that most people here think that the introduction of Ukraine into the game is a political decision, when Russian equipment is added every update. Ukraine ≠ politics.

And in order not to disturb people who are so afraid of “copying”, it could be made so that Ukraine could not take battles together with the USSR/Russia. That is, either Russia or Ukraine in one battle. Because even though Ukraine has a lot of unique equipment, it still starts at the top of the 4th rank with Soviet equipment.

It would be correct to upgrade the USSR branch to rank 3, which would open access to the Ukrainian branch of rank 4. as a separate nation.

this is a great suggestion tbh. for vehicles lighter than a certain weight limit and hit by a certain calibre of large shell (~105-120+) they should suffer hull break and if they are hit by a certain number of smaller calibre projectiles and at certain distribution around the victim vehicle, this should result in hull break as it does IRL.
for example, 6-8 30mm(<— for example) shells hit a BMP with near even distribution on its hull, (2 on rear, 2 on mid, 2 on front and etc), this should destroy the tank if the shots penetrated AND caused damage.

Another issue is actually with how much the BMP auto cannon spalls as compared to lets say the PUMAs 30mm

thank you. if politics is kept wholly aside, ukraine shouldnt face russia in WT. it should be a subtree of it. because if china and taiwan (once a single country) are one TT, then the same should apply to Ukraine… this would eliminate much controversy and actually build companionship and comradery

Also I don’t want to face China, Russia and Ukraine when playing France or Germany…

This can be ensured by a simple rule in matchmaking. When two nations do not intersect with each other. In this case, it is not necessary to combine Ukraine and Russia into a one tree.

but due to the above reasons mentioned there is no reason not to have it in one combined TT with branches for russian and ukrainian vehicles

To simulate continuation of the timeline. So not possible to unlock before the USSR collapsed (1991, so rank VII) Only from that point on Ukraine existed as a independent nation.

But because they still use older generation vehicles my idea was that the Ukrainian tech tree will start at VI, so a bigger collection of vehicles then just rank VII.

It will end up just like the israeli TT. A pretty boring tree that can also bring newbies into top tier battles, which isn’t very intersting.

As for me, it’s interesting…
And it is proposed to make the tree available only after obtaining rank 4 or 6 in another existing tree (maybe even the USSR). So there will be no newcomers there.
