Ukraine Ground Forces Tree

I don’t think anyone is against those vehicles being added, but making a tech tree isn’t viable with the current system

When helicopters or the Israeli tree were deployed, it did not stop the Gaijin…

Oh no, don’t ctrl+c ctrl+v again, please. Let the truly unique vehicles of Ukraine be attributed to the branches of other trees

Just because a country could work in its own TT doesn’t mean it should.
It’s been tried already with Israel, Japan and Italy with the result being that they are very unpopular to play, supposedly mainly because of being so thin.
So lets not repeat mistakes that’s already been made and try something else that seems to be working instead. And maybe add a Korean line to Japan while we’re at it :)

That doesn’t even make sense. This tree has 5 decently full lines and I’m working on trimming it to try and match in-game nations format, and it has significant community support/popularity. Literally one of the highest voted suggestions ever which can give you insight on popularity/usage it would have if it were implemented. Not to mention comparing it to Israel and downplaying the significance of Japan and Italy being in-game is ridiculous. What you said is based on perspective as Italy and Japan are not actually played as much (like other minor nations) because the US, Germany, and Russia have the most popular vehicles that everyone recognizes and have been always known as the big 3. Israel isn’t played as much because it actually has a thin tree that lacks many basic vehicles throughout the Ranks to keep it competitive. Israel HAS several other vehicles (other than MBT as well) not in-game that could beef it up and increase its popularity which would make the tree actually enjoyable.

Also save the Japan and ROK for another thread because it was not a pleasant discussion on the old forum.

Beyond the comment. Ukraine has a defense industry that makes unique vehicles like the BTR-4, BM Oplot, Yatagan, Otaman-3, Kevlar-E, etc. which are good-unique vehicles. They make several good ground or air missile systems and munitions that are developed from companies like “Luch” that have high penetration and reliability which are exported. They’re developing new indigenous vehicle programs even now and are trying to work with nations like Poland (since Poland is in the midst of a massive rearmament/modernization) to expedite their development. There really isn’t a lot of nations out there that have competitor defense industries that have export successes. I keep hearing the same argument that “Ukraine just keeps modifying Soviet vehicles”, what do you think Russia is doing along with other nations worldwide? They’re literally just modernizations. There’s several modernizations of T-72, Leopard, etc. that are seen in-game and are popular. Look at Poland which is a in-demand nation to be added in-game, they took the T-72 and made the PT-91 Twardy, or when Czechia took the T-72 and made it into the T-72M4CZ, or even when Serbia (or Yugoslavia) took the T-72 and made the M-84-series but apparently if Ukraine makes the T-80UD into the Oplot or other vehicles like the BTR-80, etc. into the BTR-3 or BTR-4 they’re just “Soviet modifications”. Ukraine, like Poland or Czechia, Serbia etc. are full independent nations. People want these nations in-game but in order to do so require Soviet vehicles and modifications of Soviet-origin vehicles to make an actual full, competitive tree. -Also it’s already been discussed by mods that while Ukraine was a part of the USSR at one point, it doesn’t matter for in-game purposes as nations still can be added individually. The hypocrisy nowadays🤦‍♂️

I support Ukraine TT not because I want it to come to WT soon but because I know it will be a very valuable tech tree at some point in the future.

For now, though, I don’t think Ukraine is a viable option. Given both the ongoing situation and other more unique options not being here (namely United Korea, United Balkan (Yugoslavia)), Ukraine is only the next in line after those.

By then, every major tree will be fully developed and fleshed out, and true top tiers (M1A2 Sep V4, Leopard 2A7V, T-14 Armata, Italian Leopard 2A7) should be around by then. You will then find Ukraine interesting because it’s the only tree with vehicles from the globe, mostly due to what’s going on.

But this is something that I expect to happen at least after 2025, but god who knows what will happen by then.

i totally agree with that, a whole tech tree just seems overkill and wouldn’t be backed by anything much but favoritism if a lot of other very important nations aren’t getting their own TT

I think it would just be better to combine post-Soviet nations into just one giant tree, or group them by region. As much as a Ukrainian tree would be interesting, the vehicles are just too similar to ones in the game. I want to see new and interesting content, not just a BMP with a different engine

Imagine that Soviet vehicles were grouped into regional districts and called this region “Ukraine.” You have just described the current situation, rejected the author’s idea, and offered this idea in other words… 🤨

Nah I’m saying put Ukraine with Poland or something like that.

Also Ukraine is not a region. It’s a state

Damn, you actually made all the work for them. All Gaijin have to do now is copy paste it and make the vehicles. gj man, looks good.

I hope you’ve all seen the BM Oplot model in the game by now?

And a comparison of a real tank with a game tank:

The work is just wonderful! Everything is ready!

There is also the T-84-120 Yatagan:

Copying from the whishlist topic …
A little more info in the T-64B upgrade project ‘Lak’, which involved upgrading to K-5 ERA, better engine & FCS
These resulted in two different T-64 upgrade variants (BM and BM2), each having its early and later variants. Both BM and BM2 projects were started in 1999 but the BM2 project was put in limbo and BM project was pursued.

The T-64BM aka T-64U aka BM Bulat (initially the more expensive upgrade compared to BM2)
Basically envisioned as what T-80U is to T-80BV is what T-64U is to T-64BV

The early 1999 variant of the T-64BM Bulat had Kontakt-5 ERA (not Nizh)
It received the full suite of the 1A45 Irtysh integrated FCS from the T-80UD/T-84.
Irtysh features the 1G46M Promin gunner primary sight and TPN-4 Buran GEN 2+ image intensifier gunner night sight . But no thermal sight for gunner was implemented.
Commander gets the TKN-4S Agat-S, featuring independently stabilized sight with night vision and ability to operate the AAMG remotely on its stabilized mount.
And the ability to fire beam-riding Kombat GLATGM
Improved 2E42 turret stabilizer resulting in improved accuracy and faster turret traverse.
Engine was the boosted version of the 5TDF, the 850hp 5TDFM.

The later T-64BM Bulat version would see certain improvements.

ERA would be changed to Nizh ERA. (Visually The ERA containers are narrower than K-5.)
And in 2017, along with the T-64BV zr.2017 modernization, BM Bulat would receive modern radios, satnav and most importantly the Trimen TPN-4 Buran sight was upgraded with its thermal variant.

The T-64BM2 (initially the cheaper alternative upgrade to T-64BM)

Compared to the early 1999 T-64BM Bulat, the early 1999 T-64BM2 had only the gunner FCS components of the Irtysh. That is, 1G46M Promin gunner primary sight and TPN-4 Buran PA.
No TKN-4S Agat-S for the commander.
Despite this upgrade being cheaper, the T-64BM would eventually be the one chosen to enter service as the BM Bulat in 2004. And the initial batch of 10 T-64BM2 would be kept in storage for 20 years.

After the production T-64BM Bulat proved unsatisfactory, in 2020, the T-64BM2 project would revisited in order to produce a modernize version of it in order to achieve a better T-64 variant than the BM Bulat.
This resulted in being the later BM2 variant being more expensive than the BM variant.

The later 2020 variant of T-64BM2 would receive the 1000hp 6TD-1 engine, that was originally designed for T-80UD & Object 476( Obj.476 was the original Soviet T-64 upgrade from 45 years ago that was cancelled in favor of T-80 upgrade that resulted in T-80U and later the T-80UD).
This required raising the turret ring to accommodate the larger engine compartment transplanted from the T-80UD. This is biggest visual difference indicator between T-64BM and T-64BM2.
The commander would receive the new TKN-3VUM sight with improved night vision.
And like the T-64BV zr.2017, the T-64BM2 would also receive similar upgrades like modern radios, satnav and thermal sight in the form of Trimen’s TPN1 TPV for the gunner.
And the older ERA containers, similar to both the older 1999 T-64BM and older 1999 T-64BM2 was retained and hence can be filled with both Kontakt-5 4S22 elements or Nizh shaped charge arrays.
As opposed to later T-64BM variant which switched to narrower ERA containers and can only be filled with Kontakt-1 4S20 elements or Nizh shaped charge arrays.
Incidentally, the MOU (Ukrainian Ministry of Defense) failed to order Nizh elements for some of the T-64BM Bulat delivered before 2014. As many as 1/3 of the T-64BM Bulats used in 2014 had to make do with 4S20 (Kontakt-1 elements) instead of Nizh.

Easy solution. Don’t include too many western vehicles.
Also, Ukraine should be implemented like Israel is - once you’ve unlocked rank 5 in other nations (whichever you prefer: USSR, USA, GB, FR, SWE, DEU, IT) , you should be able to research Ukrainian tech tree. Russian tree can have all their cool toys this way. They have plenty of one off prototypes and small series produced vehicles, cough-cough T-14 cough-cough (but really the objects 490, 195, 187 and so on)

only after researching rank VII in the USSR tech tree the Ukrainian tech tree should be unlocked (with only tanks from rank VI and higher, vehicles they stil use nowadays. Not the ww2 stuff)

I found another vehicle that had the Shturm-S turret or the very least prototyped it, the Fahd APC
