We aren’t talking about the Oplot-M, are we? You can still argue that’s an 84U, but that’s a further upgrade of the base DU9, which was referred to as the T-84U.
No T-84 is referred to as the T-84M except for a 1-off drawing of some Moderna-esque abomination that seemed as if it was straight from Ural in the late '90s.

I’d imagine this refers to the previous mention of the T-84U, no? It has superior foreign optics, a commander independent optics + LRF, as well as an MRS attachment on the barrel… All of which were mentioned.
And? The first T-84 to be put into service was done so in 2000, though what does that have to do with the prior statement?

No, it’s not like that…The tank was adopted under the name BM Oplot. In 2000, after that, there are no T-84s.
Accordingly, a program is being implemented to improve the BM Oplot tank (Object 478DU9).

I am not sure, but possiblu he is referring to a DU5 version, which was as well as 478N participating in Turkish MBT tender
Weird, my post was deleted. Again, they found the Azovets Armored Fighting Vehicle buried and excavated it. It gives us more images of the limited-information vehicle. Likely around 10.7-11.3 due to being equipped with heavy ERA, several ATGM’s and cannons. I can imagine that we should see some more images of the vehicle including of the interior come out. Links provide more information and a video. No political references intended, post is solely for the vehicle due to its uniqueness.

The T-84 was put into service in 2000 under the name T-84 and only in the future, for marketing reasons, was renamed BM Oplot.
In the instruction manual you can clearly see how the original name was crossed out with a pen and corrected to BM Oplot.

This is your Personal opinion… - The Operation Manual is not an Official document on the adoption of the tank into service…
- For example, here Tarasenko’s personal opinion, he offers three options for the name of the tank…
Here you can also see that the name BM “Oplot” for the tank has been reserved since at least 1998…

The tank was put into service by Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 237-5 of 08.02.2000…
Accordingly, you need to look in the Official Bulletin of Ukraine or in the newspaper “Урядовий кур’єр” (Government Courier)
If we are talking about the official name under which it was put into service in 2000, then this is T-84.
The name was changed already after its adoption
