It was made and currently used by Ukraine, but likely they’re adding it since it was used in large numbers by the Soviet Army prior to its disintegration in 91.

Ah… but …what flag would be used…

Soviet most likely since they’re probably gonna say it’s from Soviet Ukraine which is also technically true. The T-80UD was used by Russia until the mid-90’s I believe and Ukraine recently reactivated it’s T-80UD’s but it was used in its largest numbers by the Soviet Army. Fun note, the T-80UD is the basis of the T-84 family of tanks.

It was made in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Used Kharkiv-made engine 6TD. As soon as USSR collapsed, Russia couldn’t maintain their T-80UD park and scrapped all their UD tanks before 1995. That’s less than a decade in service.

That’s basically all you need to know about “made in USSR” fantasy.

If there was some homogeneous “soviet tech” in reality, russia wouldn’t have such issues with 5TDF and 6TD production and maintenance.

Oh god what have I opened…

USA has 4 of them, officially, so there’s always a chance for new premium ;)

As for the flag, it could be anything as flag is set with “operatorCountry” variable, not “manufacturer country” and giving it to USSR tree doesn’t automatically exclude T-80UD from Ukrainian or Pakistan TT in the future.

Besides Ukraine has further unique UD modifications, like Object 478DU on significantly improved T-64 base:

Polish and Ukrainian don’t mix well.

Also this is where we start seeing Diesel T-80s added to the USSR ig

According to btvt post with this archive video:

The chassis was not a copy of the T-64, there were new hydraulic shock absorbers with two-stage characteristic, new torsions of differential stiffness and much more

In any case, unique enough to be in Ukrainian TT as premium/event vehicle.

You missed this phrase i think : “В остальном он практическим ничем не отличался от Т-80УД.” , which translates as “Otherwise, it was practically no different from the T-80UD.”

But my only question is what is the point of adding the T-80UD?
Another top tier? There was no deficiency.
It’s not marked as a premium, and as a bog standard Soviet-Era base model would it even offer anything functionally different than the T-80U?

MORE CLONES TO GOD OF CLONES !!!
HAIL THE SNAIL!!!
But anyway, it adds more stuff to the game, and i actually want one setup of 8+ variants of T-80U
