Type 74(E) «1st Sensha Daitai» (S/N: 95-0268, 2002-2003)

Tl;dr A Type 74(E) with add-on spaced armor

This modification of the Type 74(E) was done most likely around 2002 for the army command exercise. The additional armor was only added to the 1st Company of the 1st Tank Battalion with the 2nd Company of the 1st Tank Battalion only getting the paint job.

While a precise figure for this modification is rather unknown, going by the standard setup of a JGSDF tank company there is a rather high chance that only a total of 4 vehicles were modified, all to varied extents (dozer + side armor + turret armor + IR lamp, dozer + side armor + turret armor, side armor + turret armor + IR lamp & only turret armor) One of the few changes that all 4 known versions got are the additional armor for the .50 on the roof.

The version that I am suggesting is the most armored and capable version, 95-0268, this version has all the spaced armor and dozer while retaining the IR lamp (as can be seen vaguely under the tarp)

The additional spaced armor ingame most likely would be like the Type 74(G) and be around 10mm of RHA thick. What would make it the most armored Type 74 version ingame in the end.

Fun fact: Armored Warfare in their Type 74 devblog calls this modification a Type 74(G), it clearly isn’t.

After 2003 there isn’t really any information left in regards to these vehicles, most likely they were changed back to their standard configuration.
