Type 60 ATM Aiming Needs Fixed

There no reason to have WASD aiming for the Type 60 ATM - it should have mouse aim like other guided rockets. There vehicle is already abysmal at everything and this is just insult to injury.

The aiming types are for different IRL types of guidance. SACLOS uses mouse movements and MCLOS uses the WASD keys (SA=Semi Automatic , M = Manual , CLOS= Command Line Of Sight).

It uses the mouse in arcade I believe so why can’t it in realistic

Because it’s not realistic. Type 64 MAT, 9M14 Malyutka and MMB COBRA are considered first generation anti-tank guided missiles specially due to the guidance method "Manual Command to Line of Sight" (MCLOS for short) given that the warhead was guided using literal joysticks like from an Atari or any older videogame:

Later on more advanced systems incorpored radio and infrared frequencies while maintaining the wired from the commander to the warhead for continuous communication, which makes this generation easily countered by infrared countermeasures like the T-90A red eyes Shtora-1:

HJ-73C, despite being a licensed production of the 9M14 Malyutka, most of the remaining units were modernized with more advanced control systems, at weaponsystems.com

Latest systems like the 9M133 Kornet uses a much more effective and precise “Line-of-Sight Beam Riding” (LOSBR for short), laser beams being much more favourable for precise hits with more and more advanced armor is being used in the modern battlefield yet being susceptible to jamming without proper counter-counter measure.

That’s cool and all can we get rid of inverted controls on it at least?

That can work if you bind secondary keys for movement and use these secondary keys for controlling manual guided anti-tank missiles however, I’ve tried and didn’t made much more effective but annoying. You can try for example keeping your driving keys in WASD and secondary movement specifically for missile manual control in the arrow keys using downArrow for equivalent W and upArrow for equivalent S.

They’re tied for slowest guided missile in the game behind the RB-52 BANTAM missiles, and MCLOS missiles aren’t that hard to guide, especially considering you can guide them around corners and hills, and stay almost completely hidden if they have them proper gunner mast sights.

on pc (not sure about console) you can, by editing the control axis in control settings

Honestly, the Type 60 ATM’s aiming isn’t that bad. You can, for example, shoot over obstacles. There are worse things about the Type 60 ATM, like this bug:

Yeah, that’s not even the worst bug - there has been a bug for ages where the vehicle can no longer move if the missile is shot down. There’s really just no reason to have this missile guided with movement keys, especially when arcade mode does it.

If I remember correctly, Type 60 ATM uses the mouse in arcade mode. I could be wrong, but I haven’t played Type 60 ATM in arcade mode.
