manual loaders are so hard to calculate for many factors 1 the loader only has 5 rounds of the sweet spot before it takes longer to load since all the rounds are now in harder to get to places 2 speed and terrain its quite hard to load a round at 30kmh on bumpy terrain 3 loader himself not all loaders can load and def not at 3 second in actual combat conditions some load at 6 seconds some load at 10 seconds
What an argument against buffing Type 10’s reload. :)
That argument is made for autoloaders as well.
6 seconds is the primary cited combat service reload speed of Leclerc.
5 seconds is a faster mode that has been used in at least testing, but hasn’t been cited for use in-battles.
Both are equally true, using either is equally realistic.
That’s why it’s silly to seek the fastest possible training reload times of all these tanks.

Double differential steering instead of clutch braking in the game files. Only the elde 98 has it rn
No tank in War Thunder has anything other than manual transmissions.
Torque converters aren’t a thing.
Leopard 1 has been equally inaccurate in that regard for longer.

Until gun leveling is introduced, there’s no reason to amend the fastest reloading main battle tank in the game. 4 seconds is accurate without gun leveling being a thing.
Gaijin should add gun leveling, then the reload can be amended once and done correctly.
Also the Type 90 video is altered; A portion of the reload is cut off, which I find annoying because I know there are good sources out there.
Altercations are the primary reason many people prefer documentation.
After all, I’ve been lobbying for accurate Type 10 for years now, myself.
what does this mean exactly, actual question?
In autoloading systems [and manual systems where the loader has the switch on], there’s a full reloading sequence.
Fire.
Recoil.
Verify gun is level with mechanical loader.
Round index if needed. [This can even be prior to firing depending on how the loading mechanism is designed.]
Ram round [breach closes without input].
Unlock barrel back to sight level.
Fully reloaded.
If implemented, reloads would be faster standing still and at level with loader than at full elevation & on the move over hills.
I’ve been trying to think of how to program this for manual loaders as well, but I haven’t discovered the solution yet. Though one of the solutions to manual loaders when moving moving is reload is slowed down by ~15%.
However, this complicated loading is something I support existing in-game at some point, even though I’ve voiced pause on implementation until we have all aspects figured out.
ah that makes a lot of sense for a second I thought you were talking about the gun maintain level and I was confused since we have stabilisers.
You could always consider it ramping up based on speed i.e. 15% slow to 30-40% slow for the Abrams going 20 km/h versus 40-50 km/h only thing that would be weird is how braking would affect it like your technically slowing so it should lower the reload but the crew would moving extremely fast though because there fighting both forwards and backwards momentum.
There’s also then the question of how suspension could affect it or if it should.
Its one of those few mechanics that I understand why they haven’t implemented yet but I do wish to see, similar to how I wish to see lower initial reload speed for manual loaders based on round placement in ready rack and crew exhaustion.
All are complicated and I see being very hard to program sadly.
4 seconds is literally just “make it 1s faster” from when the Type 90 was underperforming in games and had a 5s reload. It’s an arbitrary number.
Reloads are always used for balancing, the only “rule” is that they generally can’t be faster than the actual maximum reload which would be ~3.2s (sustained) here.
Now if you want to argue for gun leveling, something that should also affect many non-autoloaded tanks, then it would only be fair to mention that purely the reload process (assuming a round is already cycled in the loader) would take only ~2s, leading to the first follow up shot being faster.
Now I’m not saying any of that is needed yet, Type 10 is still rather good in the current game, but this will eventually be needed to bring it up to future competition such as Abrams X, KF51, etc.
The Type 10’s fastest reload is sustained with the gun already being level.
If you add full negative gun elevation, the gun leveling adds half a second or more depending on how fast the stabilizer is.
Type 90’s video skips the firing, recoil, & leveling portion of the reloading process on the 2nd reload.
The Type 90 also presumably has a slower stabilizer than the Type 10.
A manual loader with the gun leveling turned off and lap loading would be the fastest loading possible.
The equivalent of an autoloading mechanism that indexes prior to firing.
Coincidentally, only T-72 autoloaders of the Soviet autoloaders could allow that feature because they discard the entire round when firing.
I don’t like videos when it comes to recording speed, because I personally need to see like 5+ differently sourced videos of different serial’d tanks to feel comfortable.
That or I’d like to hear people speaking in the video so I can have voice analysis tell me the video is unaltered, such as the case with the German training video.
And a final point: I do not inherently oppose training reload speeds.
Leclerc crews seem to prefer the slower reload speed when in actual combat, but that’s primarily a crew & maintenance team preference.
Just as Abrams can go 90+kph, and presumably Leclerc as well [Leclerc is geared to go at least 84kph when ungoverned], maintenance teams say no, and crews tend to agree.
Crews don’t want to be the team that slipped a track off of the running gear from going too fast, or jammed an autoloader from using the fastest possible speeds in combat.
But in War Thunder, we don’t have either of those concerns.
Shot to shot sustained reload, including gun leveling and resetting is ~3.2s for Type 90 and Type 10. There is reloads as fast as ~2.2s, which is likely with the next round already in the loader before the first shot if we assume the loading mechanism itself is equal to the Type 90 that we have interior footage of.

Then you’re disregarding the only concrete sources we have beyond “yeah it’s fast”. Could videos be sped up? Maybe. But at the same time having so many videos sped up to <4s reloads is just insane.
If you look at footage of these tanks, even if the follow up shot isn’t immediate, the gun often resets after about 3.2s give and take, which lines up with the loading itself from the interior footage being about 2s, leaving a comfortable 1.2s to account for recoil and gun position and drop in the next round.
Also keep in mind that slower reloads can still happen if the next round needs to be cycled in the loader, for example while switching ammo types. In this case we can ignore those longer times and instead go for the fastest, since that is the standard used on carousel autoloaders for example.
So again, ~3.2s is the maximum sustained speed and can even be seen performed by moving tanks. Outliers are instead even faster reloads that might be explained by the second round being ready in the loader before firing.
