TL;DR: An 8x8 armored car equipped with a 30mm cannon.
History:
The Type 07P’s history began in the late 1990 when the development of a new APC was initiated. Poly Technologies (PolyTech) and NORINCO both submitted designs to meet the requirements set by the Chinese Army. These were the Type 07P and Type 08 respectively. NORINCO’s Type 08 was ultimately accepted into service as the ZBL-08, which served as the basis for the ZLT-11, a vehicle we already have in-game. PolyTech’s Type 07P didn’t go to waste, however, as it was instead marketed as an export vehicle targeted at developing countries as well as an internal security vehicle for the Chinese Police. As an export, the Type 07P has seen some success as 18 of them were employed into the Cameroonian Armed Forces in 2014 and shown off on during Cameroon’s 42nd National Day Parade on the 20th of May the same year. These vehicles found themselves involved in the Boko Haram Insurgency conflict in which one of them was responsible for knocking out a Saurer 4K 4FA, an Austrian APC, which the Boko Haram had captured from Nigeria. The Type 07P is equipped with a 30mm autocannon, which is a copy of the Soviet Shipunov 2A42. It also has a coaxial 7.62mm MG. As an APC, the Type 07P can accommodate up to 9 fully-equipped-troops, which are protected from 12.7mm MG fire from the front and small arms fire from the sides and rear.
Place In War Thunder:
With the addition of fast autocannon carriers to the mid/high tiers of several in-game nations, it is only reasonable that every other nation should follow suit. The Type 87 RCV and Wiesel 1A4 are proof that these vehicles have a place in War Thunder. That being said, China has a lot of options when it comes to this type of vehicle and I find it unlikely that the Type 07P will end up in the tech tree as something like the WZ-551 would be more fitting. I’m proposing the Type 07P as a premium or event counterpart to whatever autocannon car China gets in the tree as the Type 07P was purely an export vehicle. Playstyle would be similar to vehicles like the Type 87 RCV and Wiesel 1A4, however, you’d have to play with an extra level of caution as the Type 07P is larger than both. Despite this downside, the Type 07P is still extremely maneuverable and would allow you to take powerful early-game positions before opening up on the sides of early MBTs.
