- Spawn the Tu-95 at their max altitude and max speed. It will increase it survival chance.
We can get Tu-95M-5 conversion although I think the plane is perfectly fine in the simulator right now. The only things that should be changed is reduction of repair prices, because they are quite high, and the aircraft’s durability should be increased.

A quick summary of the Tu-95M-5. It received an improved Sirena-3 RWR, a radar for guiding two KSR-5 heavy missiles on external pylons, and the aforementioned missiles. Defensive armament was reduced from three to two turrets. And when that becomes a thing, so do better RL jammers.
The defensive turrets are missing its 1200rpm minimum fire rate so theres a buff if it gets fixed.
No it’s not. It’s free food for the enemy
Kh26mp is a varient of this missile too absolutely huge anti radiation missile
Tu-95M have one big advantage compared to B-52 in sim and thats 3rd person view thanks to multiple turrets. This significantly improves situational awareness.
And it’s still an under-count (sort of), and isn’t even the B-52 with the greatest conventional bomb load, that would be the B-52D.
Which would up the internal carriage from 27x M117 750lb bombs to 42 bombs + external racks brings the count to 66 in total, or similar for the mk 82 500lb bomb up to 110 bombs.
Also it would swap out the M61 for 4x M3 Cal. 50s so significantly reduce defensive performance, since the tail gun is the only station.
14 players use Tu-95… I guess it is pretty good in sim
Well, the plane has its own special “features” that you have to get used to. For example, the plane has a larger IR signature than the sun. Luckily, turning off the engines helps and thanks to the non-existent drag, the plane doesn’t even need them for half of the flight lmao. The moment I drop the bombs from a height of 7km, I turn off the engines and that energy is more than enough to return to the airport and even for additional maneuvering if necessary.
i wonder how true it is to the real life. But i think it’s not the drag that doesn’t exist, it’s that plane inertia due to the weight overcomes the drag.
Wasn’t this fixed? Sure it has 4 very big engines, but i doubt that even 4 turboprops geenrate more heat than afterburning fighters like F-15 or Su-27
No idea how real it is and you probably right. But at the end its pretty useful.
People in battle was saying that it was not fixed yet and that flaring is practically useless but I dont know from my own experience.
It is probably still too high due to how gaijin calculates ir signature, since it is tied to engine thrust the ridiculously high HP of the tu 95 probably doesnt help
yeah you get cheesed pretty often by side aspect aim9b’s because your thermal signature is utterly massive. And because the flares are bugged they activate too far behind the plane and get ignored by missiles. The turrets also dont line up with 3rd person gunner crossairs, and the guns themselves only fire at half the proper rpm, which is lower than most ww2 autocannons… its pretty rough for tu95.
its been like almost a month, no fix for tu95 yet, getting worried. still missing half its firepower
We probably won’t see changes to either the B-52 or Tu-95 for a while until Nuclear Thunder comes back.
