Tu-95M buff

Tu-95M needs a better RWR as it just doesn’t even work, compare that to B-52H which will literally see the entire battlefield with it. It also needs more bombs as the max in game is going to be 6 fab-250s but irl it could have up to 42 fab-250s which would be nice for carpet bombing due to how big bombs were nerfed. The B-52H is better and it’s not even close because Tu-95M isn’t as good as it should be.

you got a source for this claim?

Keep in mind this is an April Fool’s event, and they test stuff out at this time. Nothing is permanent, and things will change.

You don’t need a better RWR when you are immune to basically every radar above 10km

His claim can simply be confirmed using simple mathematics and logic.
Just divide its max Bomb capacity of 12000kg by the weight of a FAB-250 and we get 48.Also note that 48 is the same ammount of FAB-250s that the Tu-4 can carry In-game while having roughly the same max. capacity.

Thats not how it works…

then give it 240 FAB-50.
The problem is that the Tu-95, precisely the M version (the first gen of Tu-95; bomber version) doesn’t have hardpoints for this armament. The only place you can put those in is in the bomb bay, that was designed to handle a few huge bomb/ thermonuclear missiles/bombs.

historically, the M variant is considered as Bear-A, and variants modernized with next letter.
The Tu-95MS (Bear-H) can get up to 16 Kh-55 Kent and Kh-88 Meteorit cruise-missiles; but no bombs, so it is not only useless, but as well not the in-game variant.
The MS is the variant with the most hardpoint.

This is a Tu-95K. Notice the “ball” under the nose; it was for the first variants capable of firing Kh-20 missile (12 tons missile ! the biggest air-to-ground).
The Kh-20 is not used anymore, but the avionics ball was kept. The variant who got it first was the Bear-B .

I really want a big update with a huge ammount of cruise-missiles and modern ASM. Those won’t be extremly useful, but they are so cool.

I’ll keep talking about the Kh-20 because it needs more spotlight; the Kh-20M variant was able to carry a 0.8 to 3Mt nuclear warhead, and the missile, looking like a mig-17 or 19 because it was inspired by it, have the same engine used by contemporary FIGHTER JETS such as the Su-7. The dispersion radius was around 50m (trash) but for boats. Imagine going to sea and receiving a 12ton missile, shot 600km away, with 3 megatons of TNT equivalent on your forehead.

Did it ever had a non-nuclear warhead?

Kh-20 was used on Tu-95K, Tu-95MS was made for Kh-55 missiles. But the giant chin indeed holds all necessary avionics to fire cruise missiles

When you chill in your super cool western tank, but then you see how Russkies throw an entire MiG-19 with nuclear warhead at you

There is so much potential for things like this, I would like to see the WW2 german Mistel planes as well.

Sadly not. Minimum is .8Mt of TNT equivalent.

Yep, my bad.
I got confused bc at first I put them with the OTAN name and then I missed when I looked around, fiding their name, guidance,…
