I’ve found myself to be hugging hillsides/buildings more often with the BVM, and this often works out amazingly because it allows me to quickly move back behind hard cover even with the mediocre reverse speed of the BVM.
The Russian learning curve is faaar different from that of NATO tanks, and somehow with the help of this forum I’m somewhat adapting
Every mbt is easily breached, if any tank can complain about breach shots its the abrams since hitting the lower part of it thanks to the massive turret neck results in being 1 shot, but it does survive lfp shots better than any other tank because of the crew layout, no point in ever going for lfp shots on abrams when turret neck exists though.
That gap exists so the gun can depress 360 and probably isn’t a huge problem at realistic tank engagement ranges and aiming, but in game its always going to be a drawback.
Reverse speed is nice sure, but the 11kph? on the T80BVM is good enough, especially when you accelerate to it quite quickly. The autoloader is both good and bad on russian tanks, sure if you get shot in the side it detonates, but you can operate on 2 crew without a lengthened reload.
Doing abiut as good as t90m. Which isnt saying alot considering m1a1sa is literally just a m1a1 hc with better situation awareness.
Pointless to bring up real life. Its ibjective that soviet top tier tanks have advantages they dont have in real life. Now wether its a problem or not depends on how other countries are treated. Which isnt great.
Also genuinely if you guys struggle with the best helicopters, fixed wing cas and spaas and the best ifv in the game ontop of decent tanks(which are already overperfoming) then its just a you problem.
Aside from overlapping ERA giving extra protection what exactly is overperforming?
Best light tank would be the hstvl, and we are going across different BRs and not just best in the game, you have things like the xm800t, begleit etc., we have no FNF agm helicopters so saying best helis is a huge stretch, and having the best CAS is only true with the kh38mt, every other tier America has just as good or not better. SPAA is of course best in class for Russia at most BRs except maybe 9.x, but SPAA is just in a sad state in general so its like winning the special Olympics right now at top tier.
I don’t know where you’re trying to get repeating the same thing I said you quoted. It’s pointless for you mentioning real life references, but as HOMINUSNOCTURNO-live came with this whole thing trying to derail the discussion as usual.
I personally don’t struggle playing USSR because I don’t need to play USSR anymore, for me, it’s pointless playing a tech tree that don’t bring nothing new to the table since two to one years ago. At least the top tier, in the eyes of the majority is rewarding. Is the Soviet/Russian tanks really overperforming or is this lack of knowledge how to deal with them? Personally I never had issues fighting them, they’re small which usually tend to only one hit to knock it out.
Regarding ‘the best vehicles in-game’ I’d give this title to France specifically. For instance, France offer:
the best helicopter currently in-game: Tiger HAD Block 2—fire and forget anti-tank missiles are one of the best options to deal with ground targets quickly as more advanced air defenses came into the game;
the best close air support and patrolling airplane: Rafale C F3—overshadowed by the F-15E and Su-30SM which still a very agile platform, good missiles for close range engagements and effective weaponry to deal with ground targets;
Yet people come with the excuse that the AASM 250 HAMMER (SBU 64) is slower while having longer operational range and GNSS, and I don’t get why people are afraid about GNSS when, far from what I know, only the Kh-38ML (laser guided variant) will recieve this feature, correct if I’m wrong, I didn’t bother going to the DevServer.
the most amount of main battle tank at top tier, being counted to six battle rating 12.0 main battle tanks as well the second best anti-air vehicle currently in-game in the LiveServer, I know the issues with the Leclerc series but people tend to turn blind eye when comes to see actual better vehicles than the fallacy that was built around this stupid “Russian bias” thing.
If putting time and effort in a tech tree which rewards mediocre vehicles locked behind a unnecessary long research time period is worth for you, at least for me is just stupid, most of people just complains, barks as I tend to refer to but never experienced the whole thing, that’s why I moved on to Japan, it’s a very small tech tree yet huge variety except in a very few spots, got to the top tier in a few weeks and the whole experience was satisfying, France is no different and eventually and hopefully the same can be said to Sweden and Italy.
eh not really when bmp2m exists. xm800t is at the same br as bmp2 and bradley hardly much better.
vikhris have much faster time to target and actually kill tanks with consistency, of course fnf is great but it has fairly large issues. you can actually sit at 8 kilometers on vikhr carrying helis you cant do that in fnf carrying helis as it would requirea blessing for anything to actually hit.
dubious at best. su25, su24m, su25t, yak 9ut, yak 9k. tu 2s, early jet is the only place where cas is lacking imo.
best spaas in the game at essentially every br.
and as for your first question, i didnt necessarily say overperfming i said they have unrealistic advantages, the ERA overperfoming under pretty much every metric, but only for russia(overperfoming flat KE, Stacking protection when multiple side by side modules are hit, no modelling of anti era properties for shells, lack of modelling of fcs capabilities of tanks which benefits t series and early challenger 1, no regenerative steering, top attack munitions being stopped by era this is fairly niche)
and whilst i agree with the state of spaa i wouldnt say the pantsir is part of that, its fully capable of defending itself, its only lacking in the ability to actually hit aircraft at range.
Fire salvo, go reload, fire salvo, go reload, bis repetita. F&F missiles may have a lower hitrate, but since you can spam them at will they still end up more effective than SA missiles.
The Vikhrs demand that you guide them to impact, ofc they’ll have a higer hitrate since you can react to your target, but that means you are obliged to expose yourself for the entire duration of the flight, and Vikhrs are fast, but every AA missile is faster.
Most of those are limitations inherent to WT’s nature.
The only legitimate one is the lack of anti-era shells.
Really would like to see the source on modern Soviet tanks not having regenerative steering as well, this one keeps being repeated, but I am very skeptical.
The amount of effort and skill needed to pull off non fnf agm helis at br above 10.3 when you regularly run into saclos spaa pretty much renders them useless for overwhelming majority of players myself included and its just a gamble if one is up or not, want to get better at helis but havent worked on it yet, have seen it pulled off playing spaa recently but extremely rare to see.
And again even if russian ERA is overperforming, it is reflected in the br system, without it virtually all T series would get moved down and russia wouldn’t have any top tier vehicles besides the pantsir maybe. Tournement again filled with abrams after they banned the 2a7/122, when the BVM/t90 is available for play. The advantages better protection brings is only useful against lesser skill players, and you can’t control who you run into in game.
