Try out “Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses”, An Asymmetrical Battle for Air Supremacy!

You would need the SAMs to be active as soon as you spawn
Or make the spawn for aircraft further away from the battle area

At the moment you would still get your Kh-38s off before the S-75 hit you
Typhoon and Brimstones…LOL forget about it

The SAM year has nothing to do with it.

They’ve added a set of modules that can be config’ed to many different SAM systems

The S-75 is just what they’re testing it with

In the 70S, you had the AGM78B and AIM7F. But obviously you have nothing in this task. Even SA2 can cover the high altitude in the south of the map.

Japan has been handicapped with a top tier spaa that literally is part of multi vehicle sam system. CAS shouldnt rule GROUND Rb games. Because some people like playing ground in ground rb. If you want top tier jets and cant figure out to put in heavy sams then place a cap on what jets are allowed in to top tier ground. You can keep 3rd generation fighters and the stuff because most spaa is capable of fighting that.

It does matter the sams year because this means it will be the first one added likely in some fashion to ground rb. Which means it is at best redundant at worse it does nothing and can only occasionally pose a threat.

The AIM-7F Sparrow missile entered service in 1976

Sa-2 was not a good SAM for medium to short range.

Doesn’t mean anything, its a universal system for multi-vehicle AA’s. It can branch out in a lot of different ways in the future.

Please incorporate this into a new permanent game mode. This sounds awesome!

Im willing to bet you the s-75 will be the first heavy sam in ground rb for at least a update or two

Yeah its always the same with gaijn well in the future we will add heavier sams after we add one that is 70 years old and sit with that for 3-4 updates

I agree it’s a cool idea and makes ground attack aircraft relevant having acheivable objectives
Not bomb these 5 bases and then an airfield…

And the radars of these SA2s have surreal capabilities. For example, in the previous tests, my friend and I found that even if your plane was behind an obstacle, these radars were still pointing at you.

Im willing to bet you here and now. We see the s-75 be the only heavy sam system in ground for 2-3 updates possible longer. That is the s-75 will be where gaijin just stops and sits on it for a couple updates.

I’m just hoping they make it radar guided and not SACLOS. Makes it hard to dodge.

Problem is S-300/400 and Patriot missiles have so much energy and will come down directly ontop of an aircraft. It’s really not going to be much fun smacked by an Ion cannon from space

This isn’t SEAD, its DEAD (Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses). Actual SEAD would be done by things like Anti Radiation Missiles or other long range weaponry, going in close with unguided weapons is just a DEAD mission. The idea that early ARMs like Shrikes don’t always hit makes them the idea behind the Supression in SEAD, you fire a couple of them to try and hit, damage or if possible destroy launchers, radars or other SAM site infrastructure. This would put the site out of action or limit its effectiveness, which a DEAD mission can use to fully destroy it.

If they model the sites with damagable parts like radars and launchers, ARMs can be added and used to actually supress them. So please just add that instead of coming with a lame excuse.

Having this as an objective in regular air battles could be nice though, something to change things up a bit.

Honestly after how long cas has dominated ground rb I could care less if they get smacked around in GROUND RB

I can bet you we wont. you realise the S-75 is just the missile system, Its meant to have a radar station along with it. unless gaijin plans to add this to GRB as “AI” then why even have Ito or TorM1s anymore when the S75s alone would dump all over these.

Adding more 4th gen fighers when a 1st gen heavy same wanst even in game was always going to create a lop sided meta.
