Try out “Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses”, An Asymmetrical Battle for Air Supremacy!

  1. Its not asymmetrical at all.
  2. SAM sites are located in the middle of map.
  3. Teams are of the same size and comparable technology.
  4. Attackers have the advantage always due to the SAM site being in the middle of map. They can suicide run into the them and get them before the MiGs can even fire on them.
  5. No GCI for either side, making it impossible to spot enemies before hand when they are flying low (for either side).
  6. AI is non-stop shooting through the terrain and not using radar lock.
  7. SAM site placement is absolutely random and ends up being on hill sides, where they cant fire into oncoming enemies.
  8. Only F-4Es available to USA for some reason, while they should be able to use F-105s, F-111s, A-6s, A-7s and so on. All of them were used for ground strike missions.

I hope they add markers but only at close range (5 KM?) for air targets like they did in RB EC playtests years ago. Radar would still be useful to find targets but once a target is well within visual range of your pilot, it’s highlighted.

I mainly bring this up because the game doesn’t really do a good enough job at enhancing specks on distant contacts, and it’s harder to visually spot in-game then it would be IRL, esp on a lower resolution monitor.

Oh heck yeah. I just wish this was in normal ARB

Getting killed by something that doesn’t render in. Sweet

What?

Really? Only 2 days in the middle of the week?

This will reduce the amount of players who will play.

They said they might extend it

Hey lets rub it to ground Players lol brilliant event. Are going to ever you know fix ground rb. Can we do it before we get b52s and f22s and f35s

Given most events are ground base (looking at the ww1 event) it’s nice some aren’t. Not everyone likes ground

But it would be stupid to require tank gameplay to test aircraft Vs SAM gameplay

Im not talking about the event itself. I’m simply pointing out the fact that once again the devs are teasting people who play ground with heavy sams and CAS protection. Which shouldve of been added before the f-18 su3r f15 and the like. One of the main reasons one death leavers in ground top tier happens. Broken Meta for ground rb because of gaijins own refusal to stop adding or alllowing top tier jets into grounnd battles. Against other nations that dont have spaa or even their own top tier jets. I dont care about the even likely not going to play it. But I do care that gaijin has the ability to put heavy sams in and just wont give them to ground rb

I tested it using a Custom Battle / CDK assets. The S75s/P-12 currently have zero issue detecting/tracking/eliminating the F-117. ;)

That would need some tweaking prior to primetime, but I would love to be able to go SAM hunting in the Nighthawk.

This event is entirely about tuning them for their introduction into GRB

Yeah so my point exactly. BEFORE THEY ARE ADDED TO GRB which they have damaged the meta with JET SPAM and helicopter to. But hey here is an EVENT WHERE YOU CAN SEE that gaijin can IN THEORY DO heavy sams. But you arent getting them in ground yet

We dont need SAMs like S-75s in GRB, what we need is SAM/SPAA spawn locations similar to helicopters that are not part of the GRB map that tanks use.

I do hope this event is them testing that theory with the helicopter spawns+air spawns but till they separate SAM spawns from GRB spawns it wont matter what they add if CAS can still point and click at spawn thanks to map pod marking being introduced.

This should’ve of been done before the f-14 the 15 the 18 and 16 and the su-34 and typhoon and eurofighter. But hey look we are finally testing heavy sams under AI in an event. Aren’t you happy

You know the typhoon and eurofighter is the same jet right?

Also it’s like the weakest top tier CAS at the moment.

But anyway. Eh… I’m glad we finally got stronger. Was impossible to try and use a tornado Gr1 against a Pantsir

Some NAtions Im looking at japan have part of their heavy sam but not the radar for a good while now. And even if you had sam/spaa sites around the map eventually air would learn where they are and how to avoid them. Or CAS would whine that they get a missile fired at them before they can do anything., And one last point they are testing a 70 Year old heavy sam system in game finally.

Yeah im sure it is total weak cas. Oh wait you were comparing it to other cas not the SPAA it would face.

Problem with systems like the S-75 is they are not designed to shoot down fighter sized targets.
They are easilly jammed and were only a real threat to B-52s and high/medium altitude bombing runs.

It does seem like they are pulling far too much G and tracking a little too well. Feels like the S-75 is performing like the S-75M
During the Gulf pilots discounted S-75M it was not designed to hit a fighter sized target.

1 reason its a 70 year old heavy sam system. Even if they do put these in grb in some manner its 70 years old trying to shot down 4th gen fighters
