The biggest problem with heli PvE gameplay is the lack of objectives and variety.
The lack of objectives keeps every player competing against each other for points and targets. This leaves most players loitering for extended periods of time without anything to do while a small amount of players obtains all the points.
The lack of variety keeps the mode monotonous and boring. There is no incentive to stay in a game mode where you fly straight for 5 minutes and point and click at the ground.
The solution to both? Transport Helicopters and objectives.
Transport objectives would give players using Utility helicopters like the Mi-4, UH-1, or H-34 for example, a legitimate use in heli pve. This would also allow for a multitude of objectives to complete that are exclusive to helicopters with Cargo spec and a larger lift capacity.
Spoiler
Transport helicopters would not only add a huge variety of potentially new helicopters, but it would provide helicopter players from all nations a new way to play and grind with helicopters. This would also give players in attack helicopters a new objective, escorting and protecting players with no armaments.

What would these objectives look like?
They would essentially be the same as the “Land and capture” objectives with different dialog and appearance. Instead of players just landing on an empty helipad, they would land on an ammo depot, fuel depot, or an area lightly defended by small arms fire, all of which are already present in the game files. Attack helicopters would lose the ability to complete this objective, making utility and transport helis essential for the match. Multiple of these objectives would be active at once instead of one at a time.
Would you like to see transport helicopters and objectives for helicopter PvE?
- Yes.
- Yes, but without transport helicopters.
- No. I want helicopter PvE to stay boring.
Let’s get some opinions and ideas.

I don’t think Gaijin is going to invest in vehicles that only have a marginal use in one game mode.
However,
There are already plenty of marginal helicopters (I’m looking at you AB 205) that would suddenly become more useful in this. Even just increasing the rate at which the landing pads spawn, including multiple simultaneously would be a great help and make them viable in the helo PVE. But I think your idea has merit for whenever Gaijin bothers to update the PVE side of the game.

Yeah, there are already plenty of Helis in the game that would benefit from this.
UH-1B/C
H-34
UH-1D
Mi-8TB
Mi-4
Mi-8TV/AMTsh/AMTsh-VN
Ka-29
Wessex HU Mk.5
Lynx AH.Mk.1/G-Lynx
A.109EOA-2
HK3PC
I know transport helis have no place in the game but man it would be awesome to use the door gunners on the UH-60 or clear an LZ for a Z-8 using the Z-10.

Well sounds more like more capture pads but with some extra steps for limited helis only.
The actual helipad capture actually simulates a heli evac, thats why after capturing (actually getting wounded inside the heli or smth like that), to finish the task you need to return and land in a helibase (to get the wounded into the hospital). In short, your idea its already in the game but implemented vaguely.
What we need are a lot of more targets to destroy (convoys and the stationary ones). Because 6 helis fighting to destroy a single convoy and then waiting for more to spawn is not fun and feels like wasting your time. Maybe add that huge industrial target like deep strike event?
In my experience, I need 100 ai kills to get a decent amount of rp, and if we are more than 4 players, most of em going to have low kills.

That’s exactly what it is. Capture pads but less ass. I only suggested that because it would be a lot easier to code and implement than full blown transport animations and entirely new assets. It wouldn’t require new mechanics since its all already in the game. Wouldn’t require a full reworks either. I’ve tried making suggestions about a full heli pve rework but the suggestion mods either say its too much or just straight up deny it.

Tried to make a suggestion to increase the amount of the land and capture objectives. Moderators denied it of course.

Maybe people can actually play PVE because I’ve been for 3 hours waitin for a battle.
heli PVE could potentially evolve into an errand simulator and im fine with it, a nice break every once in a while.
It’s pretty relaxing, of course that comes a the cost of gaijin wanting to axe the mode and making actual profit in it pretty dificult.

you can also make that each soldier / box costs a fixed amount,
helicopters with enormous capacity (but usually poor performance) are rewarded a lot more per taxi than other, more multipurpose helicopters with smaller capacity.
SA 313B Alouette II for example has 2 vacant seats and thats it, it can only carry trops and even so, it is pretty small reward, while an Mi-8 can carry 24 or so people and even some “boxes” (ammo crates I suppose).
Even carry some artillery or random vehicle would yield superior rewards due to enormous, moving weight doing their thing

Exactly. That would be the trade-off with using transport helis. No weapons, but high rewards. I also like the idea of getting rewards based off of the passive effects of your cargo. Resupplies could give you points anytime a friendly player uses them and Infantry could give you points if they capture an objective or destroy a target.
