First you have to login on Xbox after each purchase, or it won’t be reflected when you login on PC. In PC store, you are only allowed to purchase Golden Eagles (but not vehicle packs), and again, you have to login into PC version before they will be available for you on Xbox.
That aside, anything you purchase in-game using GE (including premium account) is reflected on both platforms immediately.
Yeah, but the way you made it seem was that, even though it’s closed, you felt entitled to have yours transferred a anyways.
Yeah, it’s little stupid, but you can still buy premium time, currency and vehicles on the Xbox store.
I didn’t mean for my comments to be sarcastic or passive aggressive. And you didn’t mean yours to be angry or upset. So we both are wrong I guess. I’m sorry that you felt that mine were felt that way. I was just simply trying to explain what was going on
Yeah, like I said, it’s not necessarily what you said but how I felt you were saying it. Again I’m sorry.
What makes this unlinking thing even more ridiculous is that the linking process is automated. It only take a few minutes to link your account, and no involvement from a live person on their end, but somehow takes years for them to even consider unlinking your account.
This whole unlinking thing is a load of crap that Gaijin has purposefully made difficult for reasons known only to them.
That’s not true actually. I’ve been through this process personally and there are definitely people involved. I personally talked to 3 people when doing it.
Again that is not true. It generally takes about 24 hours.
Once more, not true. They don’t contact console players to see if they’d like to unlink their accounts. You have to contact them and they’ll respond within about 24 hours. Not years…
We have been unable to log in every day to follow up when the account transfer opens. I sold the Xbox and now I only have a PC. Just let us know when the account transfer opens.
@RYaidh7157 best thing to do is to check the linked sites above every day. Maybe check the WT reddit too, sometimes things that aren’t announced get posted there
Certainly there’s some overreaction on this issue, as well as the fact that much of this is simply the nature of doing business with the console companies. That said, any premium time purchased on xbox/PS store doesn’t transfer, only GE purchased Prem (although I haven’t tested so I’m not even sure of that). At one point in November I simultaneously had 10 days of premium on PS but no premium on PC, then when I bought 30 days on PC I still only had 10 on PS.
The biggest issue, and what I think drives the majority of the frustration on this topic, is how unclear and complicated everything related to WT’s crossplay/account linking is, and how non-existent any resources are to de-complicate the situation for the end user. When you start playing on console, you’re prompted to bind your email to allow for multi-platform progression. To many, the inference you would take from that would be that you are creating a Gajin account that effectively exists in parallel on both platforms. Even reading the popup charitably I doubt people are understanding it to mean that the PC account is effectively subordinate to, or just a mirror of, the console account and exists in a significantly limited state. They certainly aren’t aware of the fact that account un-linking is currently suspended.
Additionally, because it’s so straightforward to link PSN & Gajin account it creates a perception that un-linking the PSN account should be instant and just as straightforward. Combined you’ve got a bit of a recipe for people to get frustrated.
Given how many games exist right now with cross platform play and progression the reason this process is so difficult is because gaijin makes it difficult. All the info they need they already have in their servers. Unlinking an account could easily be an automated process, but given the convo I had with a moderator in another fourm on here it seems they have a “Joe” sitting at a computer manually copying and pasting your progress one line of code at a time.
Also something else that is not made clear is that if you play any of Gaijin’s other games you will loose all of your purchases and progress in those other games during the unlinking process, even if youve never played those games on the console and just need the WT account unlinked.
Oh and also as long as this has been an issue “overreaction” isnt really a thing for this anymore. By refusing to make this process easier Gaijin is loosing boat loads of money, hell I would be playing (and paying into) at least 2 of Gaijin’s other games right now if it wasnt for the fact that I will loose my progress and purchases in those games when i get lucky enough to get my account unlinked for WT.
People need to stop defending companies like Gaijin over stupid decisions the company makes or nothing will change.
Even if gaijin wanted to keep the process for unlinking the same, if they hired 5 to 10 people to do nothing but unlink accounts they would still make more money at the end of the day as every persons account that is unlinked is now paying Gaijin directly for their purchases and gaijin isnt loosing money to microsoft or sony for their cuts.
Thank you. Could you please hire someone to either make warthunder more inter-operative (so there is no need for xbox accounts, pc accounts etc… and it is more seamless) - which is probably more preferable for both you and I - or could you hire someone to process changing accounts? The cost of hiring a single person to do this will invariably be less than the increased amount of money you will get from doing so, so it only makes sense. You might need more manpower and resources to do the first - but again, the amount of income you will make doing so will no doubt be greater, and probably significantly so.
Seconded. As I pointed out - it’s impossible they’d make LESS money by either removing the need for PC OR console accounts and just making one account, which would be more seamless and improve inter-operability cross-platform, or just processing accounts being moved. It’s a poor business decision on their end. I don’t have anything (like money) to gain or lose from them doing this, and i’m not a dedicated mega fan that spends 12 hours a day playing their game (i’m a very casual player), so I have no skin in the game. If I was in their position, i’d take our advice.
I DO feel entitled to have my account transferred. It benefits them. It’s their pop-up on their website that suggests [encourages] me to transfer my account - telling me that that’s an option (an option that would earn them money), only to try and then be told that I can’t, they have no plans to open it up and that they don’t know when it’ll be an option again. It’s just silly. What’s the point in suggesting that I can (or that it’s an option at the minimum), when it’s not? They should remove the pop-up then. I understand that you probably felt like I was trying to jump the queue as you have been waiting a long time - but that’s their fault, not mine. I only came onto this thread from a link from their pop-up telling me that the option they had on their website isn’t actually an option and available. I didn’t know you had been waiting a long time. But that’s not my fault. I don’t think you should be waiting that long, and didn’t say so.
I can buy premium on xbox, but only through golden eagles. And I don’t want to do it that way. If it didn’t matter, the option wouldn’t be there. But it is.
I wasn’t angry or upset - just exasperated and dumbfounded, as well as a little bit frustrated. I’m not going to say that anything I said was wrong, but I understand that you’re trying to bridge the gap and say we were both wrong to find common ground and apologise. I accept your apology, thank you for being mature.
Yeah, not years when they do finally open up the ability to transfer your account and you get your request in. But untill then you are stuck waiting and searching for the announcement that they have opened it back up. And if you miss the window, heaven forbid you have anything going on IRL that prevents you from searching through multiple forums daily, then sucks to be you cause you have to wait at least a year to try again.
And also, if youve already had your account unlinked why are you even here? All you are doing is being an arse and confusing an already difficult process made even more difficult by Gaijin’s half hearted, half arsed, announcements on this subject.
Do you honestly expect for people to comb throughout multiple forums, throughout multiple services, just to hopefully catch when unlinking is open? Image having to do this to figure out when the ingame events are and to then participate in them, or with anything else new to the game.
They could easily announce that unlinking is available the same way they announce everything else, but for whatever reason they choose not to just like they choose to make this process difficult.
I don’t think I ever said premium time did transfer??
Vehicles that cost GE will transfer but the GE itself will not.
Yeah, and I went through the same thing that y’all are going through. Now that I have been able to transfer I come here to try and help clear up confusion among those that have not transferred yet.
