Traction changes for wheeled vehicles

There was traction changes in dev server. Based on players feedback and voting it was decided to revert changes before release. Link is not accessible anymore: https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/582546-proposed-traction-changes/

Yes, maybe these changes was not applied to tracked vehicles… but for wheeled vehicles all hills now oiled. For me it looks like disregard for the opinion of the players. I’m pretty sure, if players will ignore it, next update will break traction for tracked vehicles.

Is it just me who noticed this change and worries about future of traction? Let me know your opinions.

Thanks in advance

Yeah. Personally I would prefer if vehicles had a lot of traction, as it’s pretty frustrating when my vehicle just starts sliding down a hill it really shouldn’t. If people going to funky spots out of the map is really such a problem (which personally I find pretty fun), counter it by map design instead of changing the traction of vehicles.

I fully agree. The spots are accesable beacouse map desing so it should be fixed by redoing the design of the spot and not by nerfing vehicles.

If you don’t use wheeled vehicles and want example of traction changes, here is video: https://youtu.be/gg7PpAAOTfk

I tried that, but seems like I made typo somewhere… because like an hour ago I still had 404

Also I see no reason why design change should lead to loss of previous topics; since it’s not looking logical for me I didn’t really focused on finding ways to get access to original topic. Focus here on change itself.

Yeah its really stupid playing on a map like el almein and having to completly stick to the bottom of the hills or you will just slide down and lose all your speed.

I do not mind that wheeled vehicles are being nerfed like this, since wheels do not have the same level of traction as tracks but I need gaijin to make sure that tracked vehicles do not undergo the same change since the physics does not function the same way.

They said changes won’t be applied in next update and with next update they immediately changed traction. If changes for wheeled vehicles will be ignored, I can bet tracked vehicles is next on the list…

man :D they are literaly unplayable now,

For now the changes are not affecting enough of the game to be an issue. Wheelies are only 0.1% of the game so it’s fine. As long as tracked vehicles do not change, it should not be that big of a deal imo. We can deal with it when that time comes.

u literaly cuz of whole top tier of italy, and steal premium player money cause they have now just colective pixels in hangars. u still dont get the point they implemented something they said they wont do , also u can just simply remove wheeled tanks from game completly, it would be same

Its kinda frustrating that the Developer always makes a b-line even the majority was against it.

hypocritical way of solving problems…
if you think this is acceptable way of nefring wheeled tanks watch this - https://youtu.be/xEarjl3U4aE?t=88

even AMX-10RC with very weak engine is able to climb 60 degree hills in real life, current situation completely makes no sense
this nerf is not realistic and statement “wheeled vehicles should have less traction that tracked” absolutely doesn’t mean that wheeled vehicles should be unplayable

This traction change is very frustrating, and I thought it was agreed that this would not be implemented in the face of such player feedback to the contrary. This update and the very recent economy changes are broadly pushing the game in a good direction, do not sully it with unpopular changes that push us further away from realism.

youre right, they just did it behind our back :D

After playing for two days, I can say it’s not only about hills and wheeled vehicles… Wheeled vehicles now slower than tracked ones in most cases, tracked vehicles also lost some traction and slip on some hills they usually don’t. Feels really uncomfortable and annoying…

The video shows they broke wheeled vehicles.

I would mind a small change but this makes them useless.

Gaijin is dumbing down this game with red zones and traction nerfs. Wheeled vehicles are near unplayable now, especially on lower tier that do not have good engines.
