How will it affect Brimstones?
You can laser designate with it (although equipping brimstones kinda forces you to bring a pod anyway). Fact is, can’t bring FLIR slaving without radar. Hence, happy brimstone noises
PIRATE Doesnt have a laser designator.
Brimstone still dont have MMW and therefore cant be fired without a laser designator, which is why it makes you bring a tpod

I’m not going to derail this thread here. Just check the Typhoon Thread (part 1 and get down to post 4500 or thereabouts). He got smited with the ban hammer for arguing with Smin about definitions soon after.

So long as they are fitted to a Typhoon. Its too OP. Its why the best weapon we have is a SAL Hellfire.

Has anyone else noticed a cpl weeks ago they made it so you can no longer launch AIM120s in IRST mode?
never could at least on typhoon, gaijin believed the rafale fanboys that “data fusion” is a myth. their proof: showing information that proved data fusion to be real
When the EF2K first came out, no you couldn’t.
Awhile back they did a patch where if your lock went from TrackPD to TrackIR on its own you could still launch your AIM120, then for a bit last month, my friend learned you can launch aim120s if you purposely use TrackIR. I started using it for a bit myself so I know you could launch in IRST mode.
I never managed to get it to work, ever so lord knows. not that the typhoons even had the best eyes to spot anything anyhow.
Yah, it sucks they patched? it. People not knowing you had them locked up until you launched
It was glorious, but now when it auto switches from radar to IRST it blocks AMRAAM firing again.

Ive never found Radar to ever be… good in this game no matter which aircraft so ive learned to not use radar at all, only using it to swiftly lock and fire my radar missiles or to assist in slaving an IR missile in dogfights. much easier to do with HMD but ive made it work as i never light up a RWR by accident
I find it comical that the devs allowed the Rafale meat riders to use an airshow video as a means to improve turn rate, even tho in the air show had a completely different fuel level to what they thought. Also as has been said with the HMD nonsense, giving them it because it was ‘trialed with it’ but still won’t give Phantom FGR.2 its 9Ls which we know for a fact it used.
for Typhoon however, a brochure ON the EuroDASS website wasn’t a valid source. Because “it’s not by EuroDASS, rather it’s a brochure sponsored by EuroDASS”
Would they knowingly sponsor something that gives away rather secretive information or classified numbers? Of course not, obviously the numbers have been cleared and fact checked.
But back to rafale, a video recorded on an iPhone and then a HUD video is perfectly okay
