Technically I don’t think a report has been filed for the A-200 1980s version.
I will make a report for the Tornado IDS IT and see if maybe gaijin will change their mind finally.
Though yes I highly doubt AS.34 could be used on the later tornados if not because just the electronics, I dont think Italy has any AS.34 left in active stock
@Gunjob do you know if aer.1 f-pa200-1flight manual is able to be used for reports? I’ve seen it on the forums being used freely, but on the current Italian technical publications index it says it is still restricted
Well the article was about PW4, so either the author mistanderstood the document for something related to the Tornado or this document has yet to be discovered.
There was early promotional material/marketing material that listed the Tornado with a load of weapon types. About a 1/3 of them were never attached, a few werent even built.
no AGM-65 for Tornado. There is enough evidence for MARTEL on Tornado GR.1 though.
I also think an argument could be made for PGM-500 and PGM-2000 on potentially the 1980s Italian tornado (less preferable option as it is fine where it is now) or the 1995 Italian tornado (more preferable option). This could also justify the 1995 Tornado being at the same BR of the A-200C, despite being worse in every way
I still dont quite understand why they didnt slap PGMs on both the IDS (1995) and especially the ASSTA1.
Honestly… They suck in ARB. 1-3 extra AI kills at the cost of the extra wieght and drag isnt worth it. Especially with how finnicky the TV guided ones are.
So I dont think that is enough to justify them being the same BR. Excluding the new BOZ-ECs. the RET8 Could probably get more AI kills with the GBU-39s whilst still killing a base
Yep, and quite frankly. Why would you ever play the IDS(1995) when you have the 100% identical aircraft, 0.3 BR lower anyway. Im very tempted to focus Italy over the next few months for the sole purpose of getting an 11.3 IDS and the best 11.7 IDS.
Why it annoys me that the reason for the GR1 has the weaker engines is to create “A feeling of progression” with the GR4. When Italy has 2 identical aircraft with the Mk103
