with more and more aircraft being in the game why do we not get more and more anti-air tanks?
i have not seen a new anti-air ground vic in a while and there are so many to choose from that would work for this game and yet i dont see anything why?
Yet the Pantsir is in-game and the Ivans have the KH-38T.
Man, Gaijin just can’t beat those Russian Bias allegations.
Gaijin W.
You honestly made the right decision here, and kudos for explaining the reasons behind it.
I know some have looked forward to this weapon/feature but it simply wouldn’t be balanced at all in the current state of the game.
When the top tier will have an overwhelming number of vehicles with APS, the assault on Mavericks will die, because to hit one target, 3-5 missiles will be required, depending on the system.
+the factor that by that time there will be new ones SPAA
I see Brimstones as a promising alternative to Mavericks in the above-described ecosystem. Because with an average consumption of 4 missiles per tank, we get a full balance equivalent to the current Mavericks
Can I understand you to mean that most of the players here have skill issues?
Ahh yes but no upgraded Tornado for Germany nor Italy, i mean italy doesnt need one but Germany does they are literally the worst air tree in the game. This really hurts as a german person myself. Also the Tornado IDS SLE was in your Development before the gr4 this just makes no sense at all DO BETTER
I don’t think so, i think those differ more like a gun vs a rifle. sure, both can shoot at distance but one is better than the other (it was an exaggeration for sake of argument, not a precise comparison). But a 500kg bomb would still be leagues above either choice to the point that it’s not even funny anymore.
Arguing that the rifle is better than the pistol doesn’t really have anything to do with them saying “we don’t want to give one side or the other a 500kg bomb as it would make it so unfair that the other side might as well not play anymore”.
Argue for getting a rifle instead to even things out (and then this wouldn’t be the topic to do that in).
Just make it a simple fire and forget without the LOAL capability if yall think thats too good
Because it is not difficult to foresee that Hellfire like weapon with SAL on an AC would be rather underwhelming.
All they would need to do is accept the reality that Multi-spectral smoke formulations exist(e.g. M81), and did enter service.

The advanced development program for the M81 grenade was conducted from
1987 to 1992. in the transition to full scale development, the Operational Requirements
Document (ORD) required the grenade to provide IR and MM instead of just MM protection
The Grenade, Launcher, Smoke: Millimeter/Infrared (MM/IR) Screening, M81 (Figure 17)
was type classified in 1995 and is scheduled to begin production in 1998
Bro you have to know when you flying a Tornado, most of your time will be directly against the Pantisr-S1.
And I just don’t know how you can not describe the Tornado is not a brick. Have you ever tried using them through Paveway? or doing any CAS against Pantisr-S1?
Its a shame though they didnt just give it FnF like a AGM-65 with IR seeker instead. Already limited to 9 instead of 18, so barely any more than the faster and more nimble F-16C with 6x AGM-65D.
They nerfed the Martels by making them (Ahistorically) TV guided instaed of “pilot guided” for balance reason but didnt want to do the same for Brimstones which are just going to be Hellfire missiles with longer range,
Just a shame they cherry pick so much
Damn right, no way. If you’re worried about balance – fine, let these missiles be without LOAL, let them be sensitive to smoke as a gameplay condition. But why the hell shouldn’t they have Fire-and-Forget? You literally have weapons in the game that can be launched outside the range of any air defense system in the game, and which are Fire-and-Forget right after launch – who was bothered by that when they were introduced?
I don’t understand how brimstone would help in that scenario, you would still require x amount of missiles to get through the APS regardless of the missile being fired.
And i cant think of a single SPAA that comes with APS. Brimstone would in that case just target spawn, send all missiles from behind cover (never being even a tiny bit seen), land, reload and repeat. It would take out all SPAA and clear the way for closer CAS to work on the APS equipped tanks. SPAA still won’t be able to do anything about the situation.
If you cannot see the potential of this weapon, that’s a skill issue. Even without ARH this is a very potent weapon.
That’s very true. But IRCCM isn’t unheard of at 12.0. The MF1s have magic 2s (arguably better than 9Ms, if not equally good) and a better FM for air RB than the tornado
AFIAK, the Assta2 added several new digital avionics systems and a new ECM suite. While the Assta3 adds the ability to carry JDAMs.
(Crys even more in current German Tornado)
PLS Snail, stop hating germany its not our issue that other nations have Dogshit player, but even Italy or Japan have better CAS than Germany
Exactly. When the Mavericks CAS dies, the baton will pass to the Brimstones. It’s just that the consumption of missiles per target will be greater, and the advantages of ammunition in 12-18 missiles will be leveled
As I said, I agree with the imbalance of the salvo launch from the shelter. Only by searching for a target through a POD with time to launch several missiles
And also I will be honest,
The 20km range on the weapon need a laser guide the whole time will be kinda awful.
The first problem is the render distance, it will just not show your target at 20km away
The second problem is when you spawn in the air, you probably will be like 22 km away from enemy spawn point (Pantisr-S1), and you will be locked on after secs you spawn.
And you need to laser guide your weapon whole time and evading Pantisr-S1and also the R-77 or any ARH Missile will stop you guiding your ammo
