Careful Gaijin will gimp that 40mm CTAS so much. We just arent allowed a competitive high tier light tank :(
Whatever comes of the Tornado the skin and model do look incredible now
So. With the new airfield models. We really need JP233 for the GR1/GR4
Don’t threaten me with a good time. Still waiting on clusters coming.
I inadvertantly found myself doing a JP233 run (500 ft straight down the enemy runway) the other day in Sim, managed to survive as well despte AF AA firing at me :D
oooo this ones fun
only works if you know it’s coming. (this missile is being fired from 20-16km out, so you wont see it majority of the time and most tanks do not have LWS (and the Laser version can be guided through smoke) so WRONG
This also works against the mmW seeker of the Brimstone (and once again assumes you know it’s coming) so… WRONG
This one is actually true but once again assumes you know this missile is coming in the first place. The only way you would is if either A. this was the laser version and you had LWS (in which case your brilliant plan does not work against it) or B. you have omniscience. so we are 0 for 3 on “counters” to the KH38.
I can give you the one reliable counter that works though… spawning in a jet to shoot it down.
the point I’m making here is that every “counter” to the KH38 that exists in game currently, is the same thing that counters the Brimstones if they just had a non LOAL mmW seeker… I know there’s probably restrictions to what you guys can and can’t say. But the KH38 blatantly breaks half the reasons why you refuse to model the Brimstones correctly in the first place, and the other half of the reasons (LOAL) aren’t valid reasons since you’ve just chosen to not model it in the past, why is this time so different?
Smokes scatter the laser, messing with SAL guidance (which the Kh-38ML uses)
Gunjob already told someone else that the Brimstone has terrain avoidance
Idk if it’s considered off topic but are 114Ls completely ruled out too? I’m pretty sure they’re the predecessor to the Brimstone so I’d assume, even though they’re mmW, they would struggle more than Brimstones especially with how poorly they travel to a target.
On a positive note, I will call the GR4 a good plane, IF and only if they give it the IR PGMs (which have been approved 5 months ago)
you do know Terrain avoidance helps against uneven terrain but wont help this missile avoid an entire building… if LOAL isn’t modeled. If the target is behind a building and this missile has no LOAL… it is effectively a dead missile.
I also think it needs either BOL or dropping down to 12.0. Especially in Sim, a 12.7 BR is just not gunna be fun
You’re welcome to read for yourself (sorry for the notification gunjob)
I have read it myself… I know how it works. But without LOAL, this would require manual player input to redirect it to a new target-
This missile isn’t gonna fly over the building then pull 30Gs to slam into the roof of the tank hiding behind it.
If you’d already read it then why make an argument that was already responded to? And Brimstone does have quite a significant loft, I’m not sure it would need to pull 30Gs if it had caught sight of the target over the building, but I’ll have to check the angles later tonight
why would I respond to an invalid counter argument? if you can’t understand why I’d rather not take the time to explain why. have a nice day.
The “TFR” on the Brimstone should allow it to handle being fired at low alt without slamming into a hill or a tree. But even mmV cant see through a building. So even with LOAL, if the target is located within one of the many CQB/Urban maps we have, its not going to make much of difference, its why Mode 2 exists. If the buildings arent too tall though, it will be able to see down though, its whether it can turn quickly enough to come down near vertical on a target
In addition it also has the anti brimstone jamming device on top of the housing unit. We can call it upgrade mangalstone.
Then respond to his elaboration? I asked why you said the same thing someone else had already said, if you’d read the more detailed response to it. If you’re deliberately not responding to points you don’t think are valid then why respond to the initial ones you disagreed with in the first place?
Isn’t that why it lofts?
This also won’t allow it to see through buildings either, if the seeker can’t see the tank through the building then why would it be able to see the laser?
No, but with the mode 3 firing it “off map” it wouldnt handle the maps with the skyscrapers, but using mode 2 you could fire it between buildings manually or straight down.
