Tornado GR.4: Tenacious Tonka

Smin dont worry about Brimstone, you can add it to ground version of the game. Here is the perfect counter, I am sure you can make it work.

Smoke? Terrain masking with a building where possible? Driving next to a vehicle wreck normally also shifts the tracking of IIR weapons to the wreck?

Honestly the only useful solution. For everything else either the IOG will get you or the large explosive mass.

Perhaps adding a counter electronic warfare kit to ground vehicles which makes it locking on to them much harder could be added as an extra upgrade. In this way survivability can be increased by a good margin.

Smoke and move?

Like tankers will always have six sense that
“Hey!! KH-38 is on your ways do something!!”
Most of the times they don’t even know MBT don’t have Air radar use eyeballs mk1? to watch the sky 20km aways while looking the grounds? I’m not a Thai giant that have ten faces to able to do that
I don’t see the difference being ARH in the game or this the result are the same that I’m dead

How about expanding the role of aa to jamming aircraft signals, instead of just locking and clicking on targets. AAs will be able to provide counter electronic coverage to certain areas of the map, they will then move along with ground vehicles.

I would like my Tea Table to have a function now that you mention it.

I know it sounds funny but it can work, in fact in real life, there is counter electronic warfare going on, we can some how integrated into war thunder, where aas act as some form of signal jamming device to aircraft.

Aren’t 2 out of 3 of those things applicable to Brimstone FnF?

Also idk how you realistically expect someone in a non-SPAA to “Smoke and move” against something firing from so far out, especially ones without warning systems.

Stealth ground target, perfect.

Brimstone has terrain avoidance and target identification. So smoke, buildings and wrecks are no challenge for it. Even in a cluttered environment the SAL can correct for the MMW seeker.

Or just remove the Pantsir?

Then why bother to add it.

In its current state it is a fictional weapon system.

If it can’t be balanced then dont add it.

Tbh the kh38 ive rarely died to, due to the fact it’s

A on a su25

B so many multi roll fighters up they shoot the su down before it can do anything.

C get killed by one of the 200 f16s in game, usually an american C rippling off 6 agm65s in rapid succession.

But this does not change the fact brimstone shouldnt be added so artifically nerfe

Edit , so quick recap, there are already many oppressive cas weapon systems in game, why must the indigenous British weapon system be so useless in wt that its still not worth unlocking.

The tornadoes are worse flying than a su25 fue to the maneuverability so in GRB they will be usless.

F16, can rattle off 6 agms and get 6 kills with relative ease then turn to an A2A roll.
Su34 whilst a big old target is far more maneuverable than a tornado with 6 better FnF missiles

You are free to not use it. Literally the worst argument.

Mode 1 isn’t fictional at all and there is situations where Brimstone would and could only operate in Mode 1.

It does, in its MMW modes it is drastically more capable than IIR weapons. You’re free to disagree but at this point you’re just pissing into the wind.

Hardly pissing into the wind.

Maus, couldn’t be balanced, removed.
Gaijin didnt remove its armour or capabilities.

Even better grom 1 would be too oppresive for ARB and Sim, removed.

Why is the brimstone being added with only functionality. And it is fictional, as in real life it has access to all 3 fire modes, which i dont want, i want balance, but with real weapon systems, to add it with only one functioning locking system which in releality it never operated with only one, means its fictional, its an artifical nerf to the weapon system.

Thats points one and two rebuked.

Point three, the fact its on a tornado a heavy, at this br slow attack platform, which has maintain the lock, whilst it also travels.slower than a kh38 means this weapon system again isnt even as good as the contemporaries i listed. The tornado has no chance against enemy spaa, 60 second guide time is pitiful and to maintain the lock and guidance you have to fly within enemy spaa missile range OR face off against any enemy cap.
Which means yeay you’re down.

I will easily prove you wrong on this front, I hope you enjoy my first video post patch. :)

You’re picking and choosing tiny segmemts of the actual body of texts im writing because you have basically no responses.

The spaa systems e.g pantsirs and ITOs will. Shoot down a tornado incredibly easily.

The best british cas still is a Swedish gripen.

Why not implement a FnF system from the kh38,.or agm? Its already being changed on a whim because gaijin believes itll be too good when no one has had a chance to see.

Why right now is brimstone acting like a hellfire.

Why must we forgo the realism of how a weapon system.operates, if it cannot be balanced without butchering it, why add it?
Your previous response did not answer the question.

Youve so far as a moderator just told me that im “pissing in the wind” rather than address any of the points ive.made.

not really? it’s not in the regular tree but it usually resurfaces once per year and if you get even just 1rp into it then you can permanently research it, and if you have it you can take it out in ground battles

Hunter’s point was that it could trivialise the grind, you could do the vertical launch, then land, J out, and move onto the next battle, repeating like 3 times before the first groms you launched hit. As someone who doesn’t play sim i do think it would have been an issue there.

even if the ARH modes were added then (if i’m remembering correctly) they’d still have to be separate weapons as there’s currently no in-game functionality for changing the modes of a weapon the way you’d need to for Brimstone.

(Edit: unless they do something similar to bomb fuse setting where you can select the mode from the spawn screen?)

not necessarily

there’s a report for the average speed being too low so hopefully that’ll be buffed and the guide time will be less of an issue

Because every angle in it’s entirety has already been argued to death.

SAL mode 1 is a real mode, it is a realistic mode of operation. The other options currently don’t have counterplay in game so they aren’t coming. You can’t argue for realism then also ask for imaginary IIR seekers or modes of operating that don’t exist, that’s arguing in bad faith.

I explorered all the possible options when making my case to the developers. In the end SAL was the only one left.

Clearly in my hubris I though UK players would see some positives in getting the weapon in game, which 1) is still a new weapon and totally optional should you wish to use it or not and 2) also puts us in prime position to get the MMW seeker when those mechanics can be balanced in game. As all of the other leg work is already done. Now some players have already come to terms with this and are developing new strategies and tactics for the employment of Brimstone. Others not so much.
