Tornado GR.4: Tenacious Tonka

Why hurt me like this? lol

True, though using any of those via GPS only, can be defeated by just moving. ePaveway might be usable with the laser in SEAD, but I sitll reckon youd have to enter within range of the pantsir to do it. You dont vs an ADATS

I prefer slightly OP missiles that make my GR4 unkillable than even more powerful missiles.

Only really limited by SPI like all A2G weapons at the minute. So everyone is maxing out to 20km with a few exceptions like Martel which if you don’t set SPI at all you can use the seeker to hit point targets out to 30km.

Quick and dirty comparison between the two

Slightly out of date there, the weight is down to 50kg now.

Im a british main too :( Rooikat or VFM5 is as good as it gets!

Ah. just with 60s life time, I barely get a range of more than about 14km out of them at any reasonable height, So 27km range + 60s life time I thought meant it got a speed buff.

Yea I need to grab the new parameters there real quick

Some light moderation;

We’ve got a few different more broad topics being discussed here now (I myself have also indulged in) let’s try to walk it back to GR4 and it’s weapons again.

All I want is Future Warrior, AJAX and 114Ls for the AH Mk1.

Okay should be up to date now

Careful Gaijin will gimp that 40mm CTAS so much. We just arent allowed a competitive high tier light tank :(

Whatever comes of the Tornado the skin and model do look incredible now

So. With the new airfield models. We really need JP233 for the GR1/GR4

Don’t threaten me with a good time. Still waiting on clusters coming.

I inadvertantly found myself doing a JP233 run (500 ft straight down the enemy runway) the other day in Sim, managed to survive as well despte AF AA firing at me :D

oooo this ones fun

only works if you know it’s coming. (this missile is being fired from 20-16km out, so you wont see it majority of the time and most tanks do not have LWS (and the Laser version can be guided through smoke) so WRONG

This also works against the mmW seeker of the Brimstone (and once again assumes you know it’s coming) so… WRONG

This one is actually true but once again assumes you know this missile is coming in the first place. The only way you would is if either A. this was the laser version and you had LWS (in which case your brilliant plan does not work against it) or B. you have omniscience. so we are 0 for 3 on “counters” to the KH38.

I can give you the one reliable counter that works though… spawning in a jet to shoot it down.

the point I’m making here is that every “counter” to the KH38 that exists in game currently, is the same thing that counters the Brimstones if they just had a non LOAL mmW seeker… I know there’s probably restrictions to what you guys can and can’t say. But the KH38 blatantly breaks half the reasons why you refuse to model the Brimstones correctly in the first place, and the other half of the reasons (LOAL) aren’t valid reasons since you’ve just chosen to not model it in the past, why is this time so different?

Smokes scatter the laser, messing with SAL guidance (which the Kh-38ML uses)

Gunjob already told someone else that the Brimstone has terrain avoidance

Idk if it’s considered off topic but are 114Ls completely ruled out too? I’m pretty sure they’re the predecessor to the Brimstone so I’d assume, even though they’re mmW, they would struggle more than Brimstones especially with how poorly they travel to a target.
