The total stupidity of the GR4 is that the Tornado IDS SLE gets Aim-9L/i stock, the GR4 doesnt get Aim-9Ms until Tier 3.
If that was changed, it would be okay.
Still a tough aircraft given the BR, but you wouldnt be playing a 11.3 at 12.3 for half the stock grind
Exactly. You would either have to be very stupid or very skilled to be playing the GR.4 in Air RB; its only realistic purpose in game is as a Ground RB or a Sim battles aircraft.
This means that the only reason that people would ever fly it in Air RB is to grind the ground ordnance (especially brimstones, which are a tier 4 modification). As such, the 9Ms should be at least a tier 2 modification, if not tier 1/stock. It is straight up unfair to throw that airframe (brick) up against F-18s and Su-30MKs, armed with nothing but 2x Aim-9Ls and unguided bombs.

I’ve had weirdly good success with it, but with the massive increase in compression we’ve had recently, it’s more of a chore than something fun
