recently I’ve been enjoying not doing BVR in things like the gripen and F16D barak quite a bit, BVR is a bit stale, not much variation in the gameplay, but mechanically notching works because the radar on the missiles being fired at you can only really detect you if youre moving towards or away from them so if you fly perpendicular to them they can see you which makes them switch detection modes to a mode that is prone to chaff, sure if you get lucky 1 chaff can work but its not recommended as its a couple chaff is far cheaper than your life
however if someone with a good radar (basically just AESA radars atm) maintains lock on you while firing an ARH missile at you then uhhh bad luck i guess cant really notch two things coming from different angles at the same time
idk how much you know but knowing how radars and notching actually worked helped me
technically yes: EF-2000 has way better radar and fuselage, meaning u can lose less speed and turn tighter to start the notch earlier than a Strike Eagle, which is a fat plane with 2 massive rockets behind it
The top tier jets could really use the new modules that they added on the Warthogs and Frogfoots, that way the Rafale or Flankers wouldn’t be able to pull off the nasty shots after being damaged, because of avionics damage.
