No, they were unhappy that a tank built by germany wasn’t ALSO in the Germany tree. So imagine if Thai VT-4 was added without China having their own VT-4.
In comparison, both Germany and France have their own Alpha Jets.
Can you really speak for everyone who complained though? I remember seeing many people expressely say that their only issue was that it was ONLY coming for Hungary and not for Germany too.
It’s very similar to the current addition of the Stingray, EXCEPT the Stingray is coming to both Thailand and USA, despite USA never using that tank in service - they just made it, like Germany and KF41.
And here are chinese players, complaining Thailand gets a worse version of the tank they already have.
So why is Stingray coming to USA as well? After all, they only produced it, and ONLY Thailand put it into service. By your logic, it’s not an american tank too.
Which is the same thing, because the Thailand subtree is ONLY going to be in the Japan research tree.
Im not complaining im saying they were right to complain and saw KF41 as German tank and seeing VT-4 bought by Thailand strictly only as Thai vehicle is unfair.
I can see why you’d see it as unfair, but in terms of how war thunder vehicles are placed, operator country comes first, and manufacturing country comes second. We all know China manufactured VT4, but Thailand is the one who operates it, making it Thai first, then Chinese second.
VT4 (Not VT4A1 or other variants) can be placed in the Chinese tree if Thailand isn’t a branch of any nation. Your issue stems from Gaijin’s decision to place Thailand as a branch of Japan, which is supposed to have all Thai-operated vehicles in that branch.
I am one of those said German mains (not anymore for a while) that was complained. We saw it as both, but it only came to one of the countries. We want it to come to both so both can enjoy it.
Hungary had every right to have the KF41 because they were the operator nation. The problem was why it wasn’t added to Germany too. There was little reason to not add it to Germany. Germany made it, and although it’s not in German service, there are a lot of examples of manufacturer countries getting vehicles they never used in service. Gaijin already made the model, why not spread costs to two vehicles instead of one. Does germany have an equivalent light tank alternative? Not really.
KF41 was added in Sons of Atilla, 7th Sept, 2023. Germany’s equivalent is Puma VJTF, which was added in Leviathans update 6th Sept 2024. A WHOLE YEAR OF EQUALITY MISSING FOR A VEHICLE GERMANY MADE.
…without being added to the German tree. It was manufactured and tested by Germany, so them not coming to the German tree too is going to cause unhappiness.
Yeah I don’t recall this one. The STRVs are unique to Sweden and Germany has equivalents. The only thing I remember is Finnish Leopards being added despite being worse than the STRV and therefore being kinda useless.
It is German by design, but the KF41 in the Italian tree is Hungarian. They wanted the KF41 tested and manufactured by Germany- just like how the Chinese have the VT-4 despite never operating them. The VT-4 is Chinese by design, but the ones operated by Thailand are Thai first and foremost. Once China sold them to Thailand, those tanks specifically became Thai mainly, and Chinese second (which is irrelevant when it comes to adding a specific vehicle). And Japan has a Thai subtree, so that’s where Thai vehicles would go.
In the next version, Canada’s vehicles will be given to the UK, as Canada, being a Commonwealth nation, is naturally expected to be part of the British tech tree. So why L2A4M is in Germen tech tree? And also UK got F18 from Aust next ver so why M1A1AIM is in USA tech tree? In fact, the root of so many controversies lies in the absence of a clear standard to determine which technology trees various foreign trade vehicles should join, as well as a lack of clear criteria for why a certain country’s sub-line should be included in another country’s technology tree.
Canada and Australia have always been in limbo, I don’t think either are exclusive subtrees.
I mean subtrees are pretty clear. They must have a positive relationship and cooperation with eachother. The only exception to this is the Taiwanese subtree, but that mostly comes down to the fact that they both see themselves as the true Chinese.
It is manufactured by Germany, yes. The one in the Hungarian subtree is Hungarian operated, so it should be added to the Hungarian subtree. The German prototype and manufactured version should also go to Germany, as did the VT-4 and Stingray
The Hungarian KF41s, as in the ones used by Hungary, are Hungarian first, then German second. The KF41s tested and manufactured by Germany should go to Germany.
The KF41s operated by Hungary are Hungarian first, German second- and should go to Hungary. The KF41s tested by Germany should go to Germany. This is not a complex answer.
