Not really. The VT-4 will still be added, and I imagine the VN-1 in the future. People will always be unhappy about something like this. I had a Turk complain that the AMBT and the AH-64A (GR) are both in the same tree. We’ll see how controversial it truly is by tomorrow, when its morning/afternoon in China.

I’m happy for Thai subtree, hopefully they also add the BTR-3 because that could play nice.
I feel like this will make Japan actually competitive at top tier
I mean, the US and China are in some Cold-War Esque standoff, but China still has F-16, M60, M48 and such in their tree through Taiwan. There’s even Japanese vehicles in the Chinese tech tree!

Not actually, they had been captured and used in early stage of PLAA, that’s the reason for them to existed in Chinese tech tree.

if a chinese exported tank into japan is such an eyesore just cos they are unfriendly, then remove japan vehs from china tree too, remove usa stuff from it too!

and the vt4 specifically is exported, their govt exported them. we all have our reasons but only the chinese playerbase’s reason is heard lol
Let’s do a what if scenario, what if Japan exported the F-2 to a let’s just say Pakistan, since that the pakistan is in the Chinese TT, it means that Pakistan in this scenario would be allowed to have the F-2 ingame.
what would the chinese players think of that happening?
would they be mad or would they be glad?
I imagine majority of the Japanese playerbase doesn’t really care, they’re just happy to be included in game same with our fellow Thai players.

and the VT4 was exported by the government to thai. and since thai is fixed to japan, you just gotta accept it as much as we accept your reasons of why other countries’ (that btw china is not friendly towards to) stuff is on china tree
Why cant we all just be happy that Japan is getting new tanks. VT-4 is primarily an export tank, why are you guys mad it is getting exported to a country
I’m for them being there, but to me it makes no sense to complain about a Modern MBT used by another nation being under Japan tech tree, but then have vehicles used against your people be in the tree.
Nope. Taiwan is there as they see themselves as “The Republic of China”, while what we call China sees themselves as “The People’s Republic of China”.
They both see themselves as the right China, so put them in a “China” tree.
I personally believe that placing the VT4 within the Japanese tech tree is tantamount to adding Ukraine as a sub-tree to the USSR line or adding Middle Eastern nation vehicles as a sub-tree to the Israeli tech tree.
While this arrangement has some logical basis, it critically lacks a sense of identity/authenticity. In this matter, I believe we should prioritize supporting the side whose feelings have been harmed. The other side, while perhaps disappointed at not getting what they wanted, experiences a different emotion. Comparing the two, the side that was harmed deserves greater consideration. It feels like brushing aside the more serious concerns.

I support Thailand could have VT-4 only if it’s an independent tech tree to avoid any potential risk.
