or it is Japan receiving Thai vehicles in september (It’s basically the chinese equivelant of V-Day).
That’s probably why there is such a active response from the Chinese player base.

Actually, I don’t understand why the appearance of a low-spec VT4 in the Japanese tech tree would cause such a stir among domestic players. But I think it’s not appropriate to add VT4 tanks (along with aircraft) to the Japanese tech tree on days like September 3rd or October 1st, which are celebration dates. Otherwise, it would really be provoking Chinese players.

There was nothing official ever saying it would be added on those days, and it has been specifically confirmed by CM Smin to not be coming this patch.

Flood isn’t dehumanizing, though you are free to have that opinion. Fine you don’t like flood, let’s use something else.
That did not stop a large influx of posts in the forums. Whatever the word, at the end of the day it’s a fact there was an outrage from the chinese community and them voicing it out POST announcement.
There’s no need to keep on spamming that. People can simply read the thread.

I have read the different speeches made by friends from various countries, and I will tell the truth as a Chinese. VT4 was exported to the Kingdom of Thailand. VT4 really belongs to Thais, which is indisputable. They have the right to choose whether VT4 will appear in the game. But what Chinese players dislike is that at this special time, it’s like a wonderful chemical reaction.

Yes — I do know we shouldn’t discuss politics in the forums, so I will state things cautiously and only introduce objective phenomena: why the future implied by this rumor offends and unsettles Chinese players (in fact many people are very angry about this now) and why, when implemented, War Thunder would lose a large number of Chinese players.

why not just be angry that this country or that country isnt in china TT as subtrees then? since you being angry = you will have your way? almost like it doesnt work like this.

In fact, I believe some devs are aware of this sensitivity — there was a dev blog comment assuring that China-produced vehicles would not be placed in the Japanese tech tree.
Also, the fact that the Japanese tech tree’s flag differs in the Korean and Chinese clients supports my conclusion. And of the acknowledge of sensitivity by the devs.

I saw the official response. Setting aside politics, from a gaming perspective, VT4 is indeed a great addition, as it can increase the gaming time of 90B and enrich the diversity of the game.
This is what they’re referring to. Its an admin saying they have no plans to add Chinese-||made||vehicles to the Japanese tech tree, meaning it was still a possibility- just not at the moment. This comment was posted over a year ago. Its unreasonable to assume that this is a strict rule, as it looks like nothing more than a “Not yet”.
||edit||- just said Chinese. The VT-4 in question is used by the Thai army, by Thai soldiers, on Thai lands.

I’ve spoken to a fair amount of die-hard Chinese players and even they don’t get the chaos some people are bringing up. Its just a game, afterall. It’s not like they’re throwing a Japanese flag on the VT-4 and releasing it on a sensitive day. Even IF it came with the major update released in September, we don’t even know the date of the update and getting mad about it MAYBE landing on a specific day is crazy talk.

Can I also add since I remembered it, Japan has a captured WW2 P-51. Yes the very aircraft that was fighting against the Japanese. I didn’t see an American complain about that the only issue they complained about was that it C&P

I support adding Thailand’s VT4 to the Japanese technology tree. Similarly, I also support adding Taiwan’s (Republic of China) M1A1T to the Chinese tech tree.

I mean the situations are perfectly comparable, I’m going to say it very simple and will use the M1A2T as an example:
- Taiwan is officially part of the Chinese tree in WT
- Thailand is officially part of the Japanese tree in WT
now let’s go to the vehicles:
- The M1A2T is a fully US designed/produced vehicle exported to Taiwan.
- The VT-4 is a fully Chinese designed/produced vehicle exported to Thailand.
The situation is exactly the same in game. It’s simple, if the Thailand sub tree should not get any Chinese designed/produced vehicles than the Taiwanese part of the Chinese tree shouldn’t get any US designed/produced vehicles.
