Topic about Japan adds T-84 and VT-4

However, the points you’ve raised do not justify excluding the VT-4 tank from its country of origin.

Then why should it be the Thais that have to bend over and go to the Chinese TT when their stuff is represented in the Japanese TT? It simply doesnt make sense. Vietnam is represented in China TT, there is no fuss about it.

However, the fact that it even got to the rumor stage, I would say, is a PR failure that needs to be learned from.

Then what about October, November, December? ))

Who said Thais bend over?
Give Thai VT-4 to Japan TT is not bend over, giving it to China TT is bend over?

… woefully unclear.

Bend over?Be careful with your wording. The VT-4 was originally provided by China to Thailand. China holds the production rights and intellectual property rights.

Should the ROC stuff then be under American TT? After all its the US that has the production and intellectual rights.

Actually lets expand this, how about the Soviet vehicles in the China TT, they are under Soviet IP are they not? Country of origin simply does not matter in this game - its the operator.

You know, all this debate reminds me of the leak a while back concerning the vast majority of ASEAN nations being planned as Chinese Sub TTs. Now, of course, it’s a bit of a different situation, but I can’t help but draw some parallels here. The Chinese playerbase, in the case of the VT-4, asks us all to be understanding of sensitive historical issues and their opposition to the VT-4’s potential eventual appearance. Yet at the same time, I distinctly recall the Chinese playerbase (in general) being incredibly dismissive of the concerns of Singaporean, Malaysian, and even Indonesian players who were and still are immensely opposed to the idea of any of their vehicles being added to the Chinese TT. Very curious double standard there.

Maybe we need a separate ASEAN tree 🤔

We respect Thais, but this guy says bend over is total non-sense.

Thai stuff is in the Japanese TT. There is no Thai vehicles in the Chinese TT and yet you want the Thais to have to play in the Chinese TT and not use their other similarly flagged vehicles? For a Thai player that would then mean they cant play the T-84 Oplot and VT-4 at the same time.

Have you actually done research and genuinely cared about the opinions of Thai people, or are you just using them as a pretext to express your own views — and implying that if they don’t agree with you, it means they’re bowing to China?
I’ve asked Thai people, and they really like the VT-4 from China. Moreover, Thailand and China have a very good relationship and have always respected each other.

Yes, I don’t object to adding ROC vehicles to the United States, just as I support the addition of the VT-4 to China. I’m not opposed to other vehicles belonging to the Soviet Union either - in fact, the Soviet TT already has the Type-62 and t34 pongkong on Chinese TT. Please stop imagining the opinions of Chinese players.

Yes, there are thai people on the forums. The issue isn’t that they don’t agree with china. The issue is that it’s actually just not viable at this point to add it to china. The Thai STT is already part of the JP TT; it’s not going to be split.

Asking for one vehicle specifically to be in a different TT then the rest of the STT would make that vehicle essentially unplayable to fans of the thai armed forces, as they would have actually nothing to use it with (also would need to grind out a whole second TT just for it).

Easy fix - take all the ASEAN countries, and make a new tree out of them.
Sure, any one country wouldn’t be able to fill a tree, but I’m sure all of them together could.

Now, no one has to worry about being stuck with China or Japan.

There are already Type-62 from China in the Soviet Union and LVT in the United States. Chinese players have no objections to this.

And, as I said, Gaijin has previously promised not to add China-made vehicles to the Japanese tech tree, which shows they are aware of the sensitive relations between the two countries.
Saying outright that Chinese people have no say in this matter is complete nonsense.

Yes there is no question about the RTA being happy with the VT-4 after all they wouldnt order so much of it if it wanst. My point is that the VT-4 being under the Chinese TT takes away the opportunity for a Thai player to play with their other vehicles that they can get.

The placement of the Thai subtree in the Japan TT is a matter of happenstance. There is a need to rework the subtree organization and a need to rework our perception on the national trees in this game. However this does not justify the disbarrment of Thai vehicles under their rightfully Thai organizational placement.

For now, I do understand the Chinese sentiments. I understand this frustration but you also have to understand that for many years Thais have also been asking for a proper representation - and not only Thais but fellow ASEAN when this is the first type of game that has ever given a proper look into SEA vehicles.

As I have said, there is a need to rework the national trees but Thai-operated vehicles must be together with their fellow Thai-operated vehicles.
