I have taken a 4 month break from War Thunder and after coming back I decided to play some SPAA on top tier. I played with the Pantsir and the Tunguska and it is a terrible experience. In almost every game I was destroyed by fire and forget missiles from top tier US jets without even being able to do anything about it. I have no chance to fight back because at this range they can easily duck down close to the ground where I have no sight on them. The few rounds that I didn’t get destroyed by CAS I was killed by enemy ground vehicles which would either shoot into our spawn from far away or if I hid somewhere else would just drive around my team and hunt SPAA on the backlines.
CAS is unbelievably overpowered. Even with more than one top tier SPAA on my team we would get destroyed one way or another and CAS would kill half of our team with ease.
Not just top tier now the whole game has been transformed into fantasy garbage.
You drop iron bombs at low tier and they are destroyed by machine gun fire as soon as they leave the plane or in some cases on their external pylons, such realism.
I am beginning to think it is all done intentionally to shorten games, shorten the queue times and to hinder RP and SL gain just to make it even more unbearably slow.
It was never a good gaming experience playing War Thunder but it has progressively become just an RNG shoot em up with mediocre graphic models, but hey why change when people have so much money they can shell out for copy and paste vehicles.
IRL SPAA rely on their ability to hide. In game, you are stuck in a postage stamp. No real solution to that. The game wasn’t designed for modern equipment.
Literally the strongest SPAA which are both under BRed at their respective BR.
Especially the Pantsir S1. There is nothing that most 11.0-12.0s can really actually do against a half decent Pantsir S1 without multiple players attacking it at the same time.
