Top tier missile hell and zero reward for evading

Seriously, with the absolute missile hell at top tier and the fact that you spend like 80% of the match just notching, I don’t get why dodging a missile gives you absolutely nothing. No EXP, no SL — nothing.

Evading a missile isn’t some instant move, it’s a long, exhausting process that requires constant maneuvering, and when some players are carrying 10 missiles and decide to spam every single one at you, it just makes top tier feel even more pointless. Rewarding missile evasion would at least give some meaning to all this.

tbh 16v16 with everyone having 8+ missiles is pure chaos

Considering we have the missile evasion notification, we should definitely be getting some sort of reward for dodging missiles now. A reward somewhere in between a hit and a crit would be ideal.

This is probably fair, like a tank getting rewarded for bouncing hits, something small but something.

Issue is: you spend 80% of the match just “not dying” and at the end of it you may not even have anyone left to kill…

So you’ve just spent 10 minutes in a match, doing nothing but evade and deplete the enemy’s ordinance by basically working as a bait, only to get 0 SL and 0 RP out of it.

While I never had much problem with the removal of the “proximity” award, I do think that evading a missile aimed for you is a different matter. I would also agree that evasion of missiles should give some reward, perhaps in form of score (= activity), as it requires activity on your part. The added score wouldn’t reveal the shooter either, as the evasion is shown as message anyway.

Yeah, and needs to reduce RP/SL gained for a kill based on how many missiles it took to get it. Right now the meta is picking something with 12 missiles, then playing like a streamer. Sitting back hiding behind the people actually trying to fly, and spamming them.

If it took a pilot 6 missiles to get one kill, he should wind up with the same RP/SL gained as killing an AI target. I think its been brought up before but the abusers of this just cry foul. Any more than 2 missiles reduces your total reward, and 1 for a kill with No Assists/Finishers/cowardly acts counting, gets a bonus like 50%.

That is a bad idea and will only nerf rewards even more.

You shouldn’t be punished for killing a player good enough to dodge your missiles.

Also players “I don’t like X, reduce rewards more”

Getting less rewards using more missiles would likely drop the rewards per match for planes with lots of missiles, especially the premium planes that are often flown by people that don’t know how to use missiles properly, and rewards per match is one of Gajins balancing factors, so the change could well result in them being down tiered to where they are guaranteed to get a kill per missile even when flow by new players that have no idea what they are doing.
It’ would also likely increase the amount of people base bombing/ ground pounding in fighters even more.

I see where your coming from. Hate being shot at by 12 missile from a guy that sat in orbit all day just to wind up behind you after you deplete everything, Especially CM. But reducing rewards might not be the right call. Perhaps having a kinda daily limit on max missiles or maybe a wastefulness score could work? Like If you use more then x outta y missiles to kill 1 guy, your max missile limit is reduced by 2 every time till your basically stock. For every player you take down, you gain 2 back. idk

Mfw I take a flank route in a uptier and end up having 2 jets that completely mop the floor with mine chase me across the map as I crank 24 missiles, dw though I’ve been rewarded for not dying and can now turn into an already lost game where its a 1v8
