If you don’t have the current spaa, don’t even bother playing top tier. And even then… half the helis spamming fnf just hover above the helipad not getting pinged by radar. In some maps, they’re actually unkillable unless your bring your own cas… I’ve seen more nukes in top tier than ever before since those lemurs and the ah64-e fnf

So in this update… ground has been ruined at top tier by helis and my 7.7 lineups ruined by the t58

No that is the stormer, the Apache from the UK can carry them. you could first spawn them for a while and it was a desaster

I wouldn’t go that far in describing them, the first spawn starstreaks were only consistently viable against Kamov rushers and the occasional light tank/spaa, as opposed to 1 cap 1 assist and spawning with 8 LMURs, which are a skill-less weapon and still stupidly easy to spawn.

The Ah Mk1 is still an extremely defensive heli since it lost the ability to first spawn, and the ‘niche’ of that heli being the best non FNF anti-heli vehicle is long gone

I noticed that the mi28 locks on from a very short distance. I wonder if this is just a “unique feature” of the mi28, or the new US and Chinese helicopters also have the same thing.

It was satirical on my behalf, all helis are ignoring TGP laser locks half the time, but then again, the only heli i’m ever desperate to shoot down is the NM, since they pose a far greater threat than the other two

Some trialled variants of the Aim-9 were used for ground attack, tested by Dhiel GbmH iirc.

Wouldn’t be terribly effective due to low filler, but a pretty nice and fast AGM

You see the same thing again and again over the various BR ranges.

yak-9k - a aphe belt of very dubious existence, yet added to the game. Combine that with a platform which is… not how it was in real life to say the least and you have a fantasy ufo brutalising lower tier tanks.

Then we got to the ka-5x series which for years could sit outside spaa range and just fire multiple vikrs at a time and brutalise ground forces.

Then we get to the kh-38mt which gaijin just pulled out their behinds. This… thing bears no relation to it’s own marketing brocure and doesn’t actually exist. For reference, this thing if it was ever made could track buildings and maybe ships from 12km+, absolutely no way it could track tanks and thats by its own marketing.

Then they were neutered a bit by the new SPAA, so of course gaijin just had to add the new missile and the new sci-fi force field around helicopters.

There is a pattern here.

Ngl but like why everyone cries about 28NM when 64E and Z-10ME literally have same features and more than double if the missiles allowing for easier overwhelming of SPAA as once you spam the missiles the radar shit itself and dont know what to lock first. Sure the LMUR warhead is big and it mostly oneshots,tho i survived one a few times where it only destroyed my roof MG. But Apache have same lethal JAGMRs while also having 16 instead of 6,so it can take out way more targets. And all three are immune to IR missiles or laser ordnance,as i tried to shoot down AH-64E with Kh-38MT and ML and both just missed it and hit ground instead.

Besides people learnt to spawn SPAA as first spawn,by the time i got enough points aka 3 or 4 kills for Kh-38 in 30SM,there was Sky sabre or Mamba shooting down every single Kh i threw on them or their teammates.

Not really - shuffling numbers around doesn’t address the core issue.

The best weapon to counter a plane is and always will be another plane. Therefore, having planes be something unavailable at match start is the issue. It doesn’t matter what you set the SP cost to - one team will always get aircraft up before the other, who then complains how “OP” it is (whether it actually is or not) simply because they’re on the receiving end.

And if you make just CAP (purely A2A loadout) fighters first-spawns but not CAS, then you only create a new problem - you give people a bunch of planes but deprive them of their main food (CAS to swat down), leading to those fighters trying and dying attempting to strafe tanks, then not being available when CAS spawns later on and they’d be needed.

Hence why the entire “earn SP for plane” has to go.

Simulator Mode does it better, and RB should adopt Sim’s system, complete with forced runway spawns with engines off on all planes like Sim already does. 1000SP per player at match start, no ability to earn more through any action. This also solves forever the “cap & fly” crap, and also leads to more balanced matches due to slower snowballing - the first team getting a few easy kills isn’t guaranteed a bunch more spawns now.

The maps do indeed need serious help. PS2 Star Wars Battlefront II did capture points way better if I must be frank - caps are also spawns, and vice versa.

Thus your generic “2 spawns per side fighting over 3 caps” would now turn into maps with 7 total caps, where ideally each side starts with one cap automatically under their control to spawn at. This would also in effect give current spawn locations the ability to act as safer zones to resupply at.

And Naval EC already has caps which double as spawns for the side controlling them, so that too isn’t even something novel the game hasn’t tried.
