Toggle Aircraft Autopilot During Free Look

I’d like to suggest an optional change to how aircraft behave while holding Free Look.

Right now, when you hold Free Look and use WASD to maneuver, the plane responds normally while you are pressing the keys. The issue happens when you let go of the keys but continue holding Free Look.

As soon as you stop pressing WASD, the aircraft immediately tries to realign itself with the mouse aim circle on the screen. If that large outer circle is still visible anywhere on your screen, the plane will start pulling back toward it. In some cases it does this quite aggressively, which can suddenly alter your flight path.

The only way to prevent this is to move your view far enough that the outer aim circle disappears off screen. That should not be necessary just to maintain your current direction.

The core issue is that while Free Look is active, keyboard inputs feel temporary. The aircraft always attempts to return to the mouse commanded direction the moment you stop giving keyboard input, even though you are intentionally controlling the aircraft with the keyboard at that time.

What I’m suggesting is a simple optional setting, something like:

Disable automatic realignment to mouse aim while Free Look is active.

With this enabled, when holding Free Look and releasing WASD, the aircraft would maintain its current flight path instead of snapping back toward the mouse aim circle. The mouse would regain normal control once Free Look is released.

This would not replace the current system. It would simply give players the option to prevent unwanted snap realignment while using Free Look, especially in situations where maintaining a precise flight path while looking elsewhere is important.
