To the dev who added airfield spawn as a default when air spawn is available: Why?

Let me start off with a positive first. Putting air spawn on a lot of maps was a good move in my personal opinion. Its welcomed. But why… Why the heck would you make it default to airfield spawn on some maps? Like common sense should have told you that this wasn’t a logical decison

And in an even dumber, more mind boggling move you guys also mostly defaulted spawning in CAS as an airfield spawn? Why would you even do that? What went into THAT decision?

And probably my most puzzling question out of all of this is who in quality control seen all the flaws in this update like the spawn changes and the issue with the missiles that finally got resolved… how? How did any of you guys see these things and say “Yeah lets launch this update baby and let the chaos commence!”

Not trying to be rude I just want to know what thought process was used in all of this.

When managers make decisions instead of developers, you get bug-ridden updates. If developers make decisions instead of managers, you never get update. Ideally, you’d have a manager that was promoted from the developer pool, but that’s a pretty rare occurrence nowadays.

I’d love to know what map this is where someone spawns in air then dies quickly because a mountain was just right there when he spawned. Every map I’ve ever played on you have at least 2 to 3 minutes before you even get to any terrain. Just my perspective. I do see people crash all the time just after air spawn which I still can’t fathom why because you have at least 3k feet to fix whatever issues you spawned in with

It’s mostly in grb or it use to be specially in Vietnam you will directly spawn in front of a mountain and when in fig you are done

I think that it should be entirely removed in air RB, but all CAS excluding bombers/some attackers in GRB should get a ground spawn only.

Planes with gun ccip can see through clouds essentially and you can pull up till the cursor changes.

It wouldve been better if they forced you to take off the airfield in bad weather. Then it wouldve made the feature useful.

I wouldnt have liked it but currently the only time the feature is used is when you forget to select air spawn. And i think it wouldve tonned down CAS a little. And i say that as a bullpup enjoyer.

Simple, I have a list.

Fighter purists: they basically want War Thunder to be DCS and have air spawns so they can “get to the action faster” because taking off takes so much time.
Zombers: they just want to be able to bomb and crash faster.
Meta Missile: they just want to spam missiles and get their eliminations in a short amount of time. It is reminiscent of the F-4S on Golan Heights (Air Spawn) back in the day.
