Tiny Maps for Modern Warfare! Ground Vehicles and Jets in War Thunder Deserve More Space

At 8.7 and up, all but 6 of the small maps are locked to lower BRs. Most are medium sized maps.

Good for strike missions, but we need better AI and thus better options for strike missions.

The map system I put in is a map ban system so it would be considered a win or win. I don’t have to play maps that you like. nor on the contrary

Some good ideas here, the map trends have been very concerning with the obvious “lanes” and knife fights.

It should be that way but currently the map being played is repetitive and frustrating

If you don’t want to play on my precious Red Desert and Pradesh, more power to you, but that’s what you’re indicating to my by bringing up my map preferences BEFORE I can tell you what they are.

I see @soymilkman is claiming that large-map enjoyers are bad.

The premise of your question is in agreement with the premise of my post, so it’s a rhetorical question I hope.

With all due respect that you deserve, almost all War Thunder players prefer large maps in almost all br, I doubt that anyone who knows how to play would want to continue with the current trucho meta

Glad that I’m part of most players according to your post.
However, those “most players” are largely in China, which is why I primarily see large maps when China’s awake.

What does China have to do with it, obviously a part of the Chinese community has cheating but they are not the only ones.

Yes, but not due to size reasons. I just think that the way Gaijin designs maps in bad.

Also, the polls are a bit too general, and you make the assumption that everyone dislikes smaller maps, which is untrue.

I think it is less big vs small maps, but more urban vs rural maps. Sun City, Breslau, and Sweden aren’t physically small maps, but they are all urban combat. Mozdok isn’t a large map, but it allows for longer range combat (and cqc), due to it being a non-urban map.

For air RB, I am more dissatisfied with the overall map rotation and gamemode layout (RB EC when). The EC maps in air RB do not work at rank V-VII because it’s just the same gameplay, but now it takes longer to get there. Many of them feel samey too, and I wouldn’t be against more fantastical map styles for jet RB in the future.

Everyone should get 1 map ban by default.

I think adding a larger “Spawn zone” where you can choose exactly where to spawn by clicking on a location, would be a much better idea. Certain maps also have issues with you being able to get behind enemy spawns without being detected. Maginot, Poland, and a couple others have this issue.

The standard for city maps BTW should be Breslau and Sweden.
The standard for maps that feature cities/towns/urban environments should be Tunisia, Arctic, and Iberian Castle.
And the standard for large open maps should be Red Desert, Carpathians, Sands of Sinai, and Pradesh.
The standard for small maps should be Karelia. Finding a 2nd good amazing map was impossible at this time.

Well, I value your opinion but there are tank fighters or tanks that are not good for urban maps and it is simply lazy to go and play city maps when it is not good because most or almost all of the Warthunder maps are city maps and it is stressful and boring to play Even WORLD OF TANKS It has bigger maps.

For air (I don’t play ground sorry) Spain is fine, there’s more than enough mountains and terrain for radar missile combat. City is ok every once in a while to knife fight with IR missiles which is a skill test. As for Afghanistan it’s too rare for me to have an opinion on it but the EC version is nice.

We need more maps with mountains like Pyrenees.

Also bring back the air map over Port Novo.
I have only great memories fragging F-14As on that map with Mirage 3. :)

That IS a fair point, and I didn’t vocalize that prior I know.
The reason I love Afghanistan and Spain, while tolerating City, is because of the unique terrain and because the playstyle for larger maps has become so same that I see people take far more diverse routes with the smaller maps because they have to to scratch advantage in the match.

Far more fun to me than go left with your team, wait 2 minutes to get into battle then have the team with the less amount of furballs win.

Luckily city is rare enough, some days it is kind of annoying. Southern city is so so much better though.

i wish gaijin made maps like the ones you can find on WT Live, there you can find more realistic and cool maps like this one (Basically, like any other tank game which uses a little bit of realism on their design)

imagine the potential of it. at least maps should be like this on Simulator mode, otherwise you spawn on the same shitty ass map and you will get destroyed by a Helicopter 8km away

or a better idea, imagine big maps like this with bigger teams, could we fun

I address the problem off the maps along with general match making on different topics and the topics gets disappeared.

I don’t thing voting will change the way maps is designed.
