Okay, but you did read the part where I said 7.0 is just permanent 7.7 uptiers, right? Can you read? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, likes playing ‘just 7.0’. Do you want to know why?
Because 7.0 is a number between 6.7 - a popular BR - and 7.7- a popular BR. If you make a loner tank at 7.0, and you make it so every OTHER 6.7 tank in your lineup then gets dragged to 7.0, do you know what happens? You get uptiered to 8.0. In 6.7 tanks. All the time. Every day. No matter what. You can count, right? Do you want me to do the math for you?
I’m not saying it needs to be 7.0. Frankly, the mobility nerfs to the Tiger IIs justify keeping them at 6.7. But you’re being way, way overdramatic. These vehicles cook even at 7.0 and even in perma uptiers.
It could be any Jagdtiger. And looking at the rear, it doesn’t have the modified engine deck the SLA-16 required. You should be able to see the fans from that angle if it was.
Good time to get those victory wagers in for those with Germany on their team (those with the removed vehicles, anyway. Wish they’d let more people have access to them instead of adding the more situational Maus every year).
8.0 is not the worry. What? You face an AMX-30 or Leopard with no armour every now and then. Your actual concern is more around the 7.7 range, when you start facing Somua SM and the like. Which you can already do with your 6.7 line-up, so meh.
Fair, and I would never play Germany 7.0 just for that Battlepass Spz.
I’ve always enjoyed KT 10.5, and even more once it got the reload buff and was spared the engine nerfs. Panther 2 was the one I never had the best relationship with, but I’ve actually been having a great time in it. I’m understanding why people were such a fan of it now. But the whole lineup revolves around the 341 since its buff (not just because of how busted the 341 is, but because I can’t rely on my team to be there when the Allied CAS show up). Like my last session recorded with Statshark:
I`ve had bad time with 105 back when it was 6.7 because little damage it gun did compared to reload, especially on light targets. Idk, maybe it was just me, but it often just did like a solid shot damage to enemies after pen, or did same damage as regular KT. So i grew cold with it. And panther 2? I just never could catch its strengths, mainly because it has short base and slow vertical aim speed, meaning each brake hit meets seconds of stabilization, why i always got killed. I suggest i use it wrong but its just my way of doing things. I hardly see myself far away sniping if the map lets me brawl.
Yeah we’ve been winning an improbable amount, I’m not sure wtf is going on.
You’re having a similar problem as the Jagdtiger’s, really - you have to make your shots count. I’ve always said that seen from the outside, the KT 105 feels more like a Jagdtiger sidegrade (you sacrifice some armour and overpressure in exchange for mobility, a turret, and a better reload, a fair trade off) while the Panther II is a sidegrade to the Tiger II Sla (you once again sacrifice some armour, as well as targeting speed, in exchange for better mobility).
Sadly I don’t have the removed vehicles, so I’m speaking purely from observation, but I think you play the Panther II the same way you would play the Panther D at 5.3: you use your good mobility to get to a good position fast, you “set up” to get 2-3 kills with the godly gun (so that your poor targeting speed is not an issue), then you use that good mobility to relocate to another strong position, get a few more kills, and so on. The Tiger II Sla is a better brawler purely because the targeting speed + reload give you the ability to perform more crowd control, but there are definitely maps where you “advance in stages” like that and can use the Panther 2 to its strengths. I’m thinking for example 38th Parallel, Fields of Normandy, Sands of Sinai, Fulda…
i always used the german machinery as a heavy puncher. Good cannons, stability of cannon and some decent armor made them perfect brawlers, but the Pather 2 lacks either stability or armor. And the tiger 2 105 is just random goober - if played as regular tiger 2, you`ll end up in situations where you have 5-6 seconds of reload to go and an enemy is already pushing you, just because your cannon did impossible no-damage shot to the side of their tank.
Tho i understand what you`re tryig to say, and surely changing a playstyle will make the panther 2 shine, and make less suffering with kt105. But its hard to teach old dog new tricks (or how’s that said in english?) and im just not having fun if play from long distances.
