I suggest it got to 4.0 or 3.7 br so I dont have to deal with them…
Seems silly at 8.0, to get thermals, laser rangefinder, high velocity round and a 6 second reload on a pretty mobile platform, 5 crew members, enough armor to resist MGs and a .50 on top at a BR where it’s rivals have basically none of those things… how?
The 20mm on the AMX is a joke…not even comparable to added effectiveness of gen 2 thermals.
The AMX has Gen 1 Thermals, I think the upgrade from Gen 1 to Gen 2 trading off a 20mm coax? I’d take the coax myself.
Incredibly annoying armor and internal scheme that makes killing it very annoying frontally for many weapon systems with an already far too modern FCS system (gen2+ thermals) and a laser rangefinder on a gun that basically cant fail to one shot when used properly.
To OP: The VIDAR under the current BRs should be like ~8.3-8.7.
Only 2 rounds in ready rack tho, then the reload gets significantly worse. Armor and resistance wise its quite close to 2S3M. LRF yeah, but on most of the tanks you face the HE need to hit right on commander hatch or it does just hit or destroys a track and then you die.
Hmmm, I feel like both could be situational. Gen 2 works all of the time to see while coax is more situational but those situations usually dont need thermals. Maybe its a good trade, idk.
Gen 2 is great on fog maps otherwise Gen 1 will do the job. The AMX’s other benefits are mobility / armor / apfsds.
Yes, the Vidar has Gen 2 thermals, but the AMX has the more consistent gun and tank.
Both are snipers. Vidar should be no higher than the AMX’s BR, but I still think due to the lack of a stabilizer the Vidar should be 8.3 rather than 8.7
From a little test drive you just range the target and aim slightly up and it hits every time, beyond that it’s the same issue as all the other artillery vehicles but with thermals, rangefinder, faster reload, mobility, equal or better shell velocity, stupid survivability and you get all that at 8.0, able to face 7.0s even whilst easily able to kill almost any vehicle in the game.
Well,Gaijin managed to ruin my ex 7.7 Swedish grind lineup already, i bought VIDAR only to complement the cheese wedge i had for years to help me grind faster. I already think the wedge and VIDAR both with no stab, meeting things that simply lolpen you across map is too much. It is fine where it is, like having it face 9.3 is too much of an overkill, as it struggles in uptiers already.
I mean the VIDAR isn’t exactly known for it’s armor so a Panzer IV would lolpen you across the map, now with the busted damage model it’s a question if that would do any damage however.
Things at 8.0 also don’t have stabilizers, also no thermals, probably worse mobility, reload, shells and practically everything, the VIDAR should be closer to 9.0 than 8.0.
At 8.0 majority of things have stabs tho. And the no armor best armor is true for all barely armored vehicles, like HSTVL eating 5 3BM60s from the back either doing just “hit” or no damage at all. The S-5Ks as shown in the video are anemic tho, they struggle even with things like Gepard, but that is issue of rocket damage, and damage models overall. Thing is,at 9.0 VIDAR would be unusable meeting 10.0s at majority of the CQC maps we have now, it would just be food, you drive, meet tank, before you aim where you need to oneshot it,you are dead only cause the tank have stab and you dont.
What at 8.0 has a stabilizer?
Centurions,T-55s,ZTZ59,TURM III,STB as some.
Aren’t they all 8.3?
They definitely were 8.0 or even lower at some point, and Centurions are 8.0 and 7.7, so is TO-55 and ZTZ59.
Centurions are also stuck on a slow platform with crappy APDS, ZTZ is also the purest form of ass, 6 degree turret rotation, crap shells, slow reload, crap platform.
The VIDAR on the same BR as that hunk of garbage is evident enough how stupidly low the VIDAR is, which is ultimately better in every single category, overpressure is the current meta.
This is in my stock Type 99, I can’t imagine what kind of hell it would reign down if I also has laser rangefinder and thermals on an even more agile and I believe smaller platform.
I mean M4 Sherman’s have stabilizers. The point remains that the tanks with stabs at 8.3 are an exception.
