Basically, What would your thoughts be if sling loaded vehicles were made available for helicopters?
Like If infantry come to the game, we’ll most likely see some use with them for helicopters for dropping them onto the field. These seeing the most use with the more agile type helicopters.
But for the more heavy duty helicopters like the AH-60, What if they could sling load and drop off a humvee with atgm or HMG.
I think these would either be fully autonomous when on the battlefield, Be slightly controlled by the player (Go to area, hold area, hold fire, fire at will), Or It’ll have the Multi-vehicle system that the top spaa have.
This does sound quite interesting actually. Would be cool in custom missions where, as part of an assault on an island, you’d have to sling your team from the carrier to the beach.
I think more generally for it to be added though we’d need significantly larger maps, like… The size of a smaller air RB map, and the detail of all of it would have to be to the standard of a regular map.
The maps are way too small.
You can try and take a wiesel or BMD from the spawn and drop it behind the enemy lines but the enemy would absolutely see and hear the helicopter and the entire point of air dropping vehicles which is to flank and ambush enemies would be ruined.
This could work with bigger maps but with the current ones, you’d just be better to drive around the map and flank them yourself.
Furthermore some players will exploit the mechanic and try to take the vehicles out of the map and drop them behind the mountains and etc.
Could always have a Timer for the aircraft such as the helicopter so when it sling load’s you get a slightly smaller map that the heli cant leave while slinging but is still within the tank zone that or when it leaves that zone it Auto disables the sling and drops the tank still with in its safe area.
This exclusive feature of dropping in certain areas of the map would serve great purposes in PvE or even PvP gamemodes with larger enough maps for this kind of capability.
I belive this can be a feature aswell if infantry will be ever added in the far future.

Personally I do see the fun, but I’d rather have it added for utility, for example, where a ground map is about the size of a smaller air map. Maybe if the scout and light vehicles could build vehicle spawns it could make such large maps less of a chore to play?
But at this point, in describing an entirely new game mode which would take three hours to play and be an absolute ball ache to make good looking maps for.
