I have no idea why Gaijin would spend millions on a Fortnite map. Which is, from a cursory glance, just a circular hole in which players drop, into a featureless, completely flat, square-shaped expanse. I mean, can someone even copyright such a simple idea? The Fortnite map idea itself was stolen from a Minecraft custom map.
Massive financial blunder, I did not spend tens of USD on Gaijin for it to go to waste like this.

Hopefully its for their other, FPSer, titles and not WT.
Crossovers are just an exercise in marketteering.
The millliooons of dollars aren’t for some dude’s custom map, but for the FortNite branding and visibility to its order of magnitude largerthanWT playerbase.

Probs a crossover event for PR, fortnight has a big playerbase, Gaijin likely did the numbers and decided it was worth while.
I mean fortnight players are basically conditioned from birth to spend money on digital content.

Probably for their other games, WT isn’t their only project.
If we get a bad battle royale gamemode before we get a single decent update for air SIM. I will be extremely mad

Sim getting deleted in few months. Cause Aces of Thunder will also have flatscreen mode so u dont need VR for it.

Gaijin doesn’t just develop WT but is also a medium sized publisher that invests in multiple things.
That map has earned its creator some 15 million since it was created and fortnite is still growing and becoming ever more popular with kids.
Gaijin is a company that by most metrics is wildly successful and profit savvy, do you think they’d burn tons of money letting a subsidiary buy a fortnite map if there was no chance of turning a profit?
Gaijin invested millions into Atomic heart among others, why should I give a damn if a Gaijin portfolio studio does fortnite stuff?

Aces, from what I saw in review, is nothing like sim tho.
Simplified flightmodels in particular make it a large turn off. From what I’ve read, they took out a lot of the propeller plane dynamics Warthunder actually models and it feels like you’re flying on rails.
Still better than any WT maps
They should hire some folks from World of Tanks to make maps cause WT ones suck

if its for an april fools event i’d be like yea screw it why not but if its for ligit normal matches.

I dont think the maps are bad in general, its the design philosophy of 10 minute matches and enabling people to leave early etc.
No point in making detailed large maps when game turns from 16v16 to 5v10 in 5 minutes 80% of the time.
Doesn’t seem like the ever intend to give us GRB EC and WW mode is in limbo for ever.
That’s the stupidest thing i have read this year. Good god, the waste of money.

I don’t think this is tied to WT or any of their other projects, it seems to me that they are trying to get into the user generated content market and perhaps acquire and manage said content for revenue. Maybe we’ll see user generated maps in WT as well, would be neat.
