Thoughts on future 5th Gen Aircraft?

no 6th gen they will do. We already got plans like the F-47 and FCAS. And yeah infantry will be the main focus, replacing tanks.

A possible timeline I think Gaijin will do

  1. Add better missiles for all 4.5 Gen
  2. Add 5th gen that use those better missiles
  3. Add 6th gen
  4. Focus on infantry so that becomes the main game mode. Then convert to a tarkov shooter game.

Some of the 6th gen planes are already in the files, so it’s definitely coming, not sure when

6th generation aircraft are just glorified 5th generation aircraft, I doubt there’s anything particularly special about them.

So you mean they’re adding the MiG-31? That’s what it has been doing during the conflict.

There’s simply no way Gaijin lets the Meteor be that good
they’ll nerf it into the ground for “balance”. It’ll lose track easy, it wont turn properly, it’ll be slower than stated etc etc.

In terms of War Thunder, there wont be much difference. They’ll be more stealthy sure, but a lot of the advantages 6th gens are slated to have, CCA’s, Longer ranges, EW kits etc just wont matter atm.

Then it’ll be bug reported to hell.

There’s not much that’s not known about it for it to be gimped in any way, shape or form.

Bar maybe the AIM-174B, it may be the only meta BVR+ missile NATO (mostly just European nations) have against Redfor missiles.

Imagine if AIM-120C-5 had fuel left over and its sustainer (if it had one) could be used to let it coast on 50% thrust the moment the solid-fuel rocket motor burned out and then once in terminal phase it switches to 100% to gradually accelerate. Mind you, it’s already coasting at or around Mach 3 already by which point it’s already travelled nearly 80-100 km.

But sure, nothing too insane.

They’d be one of the best BVR+ missiles up there with R-37 and PL-15/17, that’s for sure. Each of those missiles has their ‘thing’ that makes it, well, special or meta in this case. R-37 = high thrust and super long burn time, PL-15 = dual-pulse rocket motor so less time to react in BVR, Meteor = continuous thrust until impact.

Well i do hope AIM-260 enters service before 5th gen are added to game

It also depends on aspect the f22 will obviously be detected from further away if the seeker is looking at the rear of the f22
