this is one of the most useless things, look i get it it’s “realistic” but it’s really not these devs need to know what “realism” and “fun” there needs to be a balance and this is too far this is just not fun and i stopped playing my beloved 2a7 cuz of it
2A7 players when they can’t go on a 15 kill rampage every game and now only get one every few games:
every time i get hit the thing goes out and i die it’s so unfair to America and Germany when all the other nations don’t have them
Well, while the part itself is real, the result that the turret is entirely stuck, thats just pure fantasy
But I am wondering what happend with other Nations Turret Baskets which were promised ro come and yet are nowwhere to be seen

USSR do have this “useless thing”, Great Britain, Japan also does, China as well, so does Italy, France, Sweden as Israel. Obviously I’m stretching too much I generalize just like you did with the Leopard 2 specifically. I’ll have to agree with @Magikッ however fact being that other nations didn’t recieved similar changes, still a thing to be added, Gaijin never declined but delayed that these changes will be added within time.
Usually i get hit from the lower plate, sabot kills driver, basket and engine.
How its the lower part of the basket related with the ring (horizontal aiming)
Yeah, the basket was a terrible addition I won’t lie, 2A7 should’ve just gone up in BR (With 122 ofc).
Meanwhile Russian tanks storing ammo in the turret are more survivable.
Have you tried not getting hit ?
Well other tanks are hit and still return fire. Except you specifically hit the turret ring/drive or gun breech. Would be nice to know why just Leo and Abrams basket is like this.
Other tanks get hit and die, those which don’t, have an autoloader modeled.
frfr
That’s exactly how I usually got 6 or 7 kills for every time I died. If I took a shot to the side, the spall liner would save the vehicle without any damage; at most, it would kill the commander or the gunner, then I’d turn around and destroy the enemy.
What’s crazy is this guy probably doesn’t know that the visual model is not the same as the damage model. The leo and abrams turret baskets only take damage at the ring and the bottom of the basket. All that extra stuff you see is purely visual.
And for the record, the leo kinda does need that extra bit at the bottom to be damageable. Too often I have gotten a shot that would have killed something like an abrams or challenger be denied simply because how effective the spall liners can be.
Besides, the leo2 has a lot over other top teir tanks.
OP should stay away from ZTZ-99(A) and WZ, if a damaged module bothers them.
Well reality is Russia didnt use turret baskets until around the T34 in WW2. Loaders always had to walk around as turret spun
Dont even get me started on this. I play only German tanks. Every hit its either I blow up or I just sit there waiting to blow up. Cant shoot back, cant move, cant do crap. Players farm that. Shoot tracks, engine etc and right as repair is done, shoot basket or gun/breach.
This is the DUMBEST idea any dev could come up with and it 100% proves that NO ONE in this company plays this game whatsoever.
Its just money to them. Dont care if its fun or anything.
Eh kinda. At least for the abrams, There are parts between the 2 that destroy the horizontal traverse when hit. Because of reason (There are electrical and hydraulic systems that run down through it)
The turret basket should act as a sudo spall liner, Minimizing spall from hitting the crew and systems.
The actual hydraulic system that involves turning the basket is actually a protrusion at the bottom of the turret basket, Sticking up from the middle. (Not to mention the 3 other backup systems that would still make the turret move if one of them fails)
Not sure if its the same on the leo, But the lazily way that this is implemented. It’s nothing more then an artificial nerf with little afterthought for how if functions.
I don’t get where did you get this information, from the T-26 light tank to early-war World War Two all crew were sitted, specially in smaller tanks as example. T-28 is also another example and early T-34, specially 76 mm ones all crew is also sitted, with exception to the T-34-85 and later vehicles. There are cases where a basket will work only as a structural support and some others as an useful apparatus to the crew.
I was neutral about this change but I was expecting people asking for stuff and complaining about it right after. Gaijin did heard and then they gave. This isn’t a developer’s idea, it was months or year of complains about vehicle damage model from the community, people thought only vehicles like Schützenpanzer PUMA and 2S38 would be affected, which isn’t the case, meaning Gaijin did approached this fairly affecting every or most top tier vehicles with this change, even if it’s not liked.
