This is a catastrophe. This is this end of warthunder naval

No one repairs everything during the battle. Just cause it impossible in this conditions.

I mean commander sending soldiers on a dead mission…

You want to be that commander?

I’m not arguing, just saw some correlation, shouldn’t went off-topic, sorry.

Yeah, I’m afraid the thesis there isn’t consistent with anything we know about game marketing from other games either. Identifying and playing to the whales with your marketing works. New players are still recruited, to be whalebait and possibly whale conversion someday, but losing a whale’s business once you’ve hooked them is worth several multiples of the average new player in terms of lifetime earnings to the company.

You can’t really make a realism argument here, though. The repair mechanic was always about giving a player more to do, to raise the skill floor and reward experienced play.

Realistically you didn’t put anyone on the AA mounts outside of cover when main guns were firing (either by you or at you) everyone was behind some steel. Some AA guns were simply not mannable in a main gun action, like the ones on top of turrets. But we ignore that in game too.

It would be nice to get an explainer on how naval crew management works now, as there seems to be a lot of competing ideas about how it really works now floating about, that make it hard to judge net effect here. The crew fraction and the % value on the damage display do seem to have decoupled along the way somewhere and I haven’t heard a convincing explanation how the previous “crew as hit points” approach was previously modified.

Why didn’t you switch to flooding though? You just sat there and let it sink. How is that the games fault?

You didn’t switch priority once , why are you just letting it sink you? Not a game issue it’s a you issue.

Good troll.

“Didn’t turn on ‘pumping’ priority.” Well, I did, but the difference didn’t change. He still repairs your ship from damage. And it doesn’t matter what priority you set your repairs to.

DIED EVEN FASTER THAN BEFORE, in one and a half minutes.

No seriously. You kept the same priority selected the whole time. You can see the white box around it. Why didn’t you switch to flood priority when you needed it?

Yeah you didn’t drown but I’m also not sure how long you expect to survive at relative close range vs 7 capital ships.

Even if you change it, nothing will change. We just don’t want to repair anything at all — only when wer’re safe.
This repair mechanic is automatic.

firstly as ive already said the plan has been stated that the current system will also be an option. this is a dev server and these types of new mechanics are nearly always broken until release or even shortly after.

secondly i ghave thought for a while that you should be able to toggle on or off if your AA and secondaries are manned. if your in a heavy gun dual with no air threat your notr gonna havbe your men sitting around exposed to enemy fire. for your i8ssue this would fix it because your guns could repair meaning they are always available when needed and you wouldnt lose crew in them.

But this is not an option, we are forced to have this.

if only i had only just said…

Yeah… that would be the main point indeed.

To me, one of the biggest parts of Naval was the damage control micromanagement for ensured combat efficiency and survivability.

Now, they want to turn it into just exchanging fire while tremendously suboptimal automatic repairs deal with the whole operation of the ship’s damage control.

This takes away 70+% of Naval’s joy and entertaining value and also has a direct impact on potential performance of players who had mastered micromanagement.

If there is no way to have manual repairs, or at least being able to cancel repairs and NO coldown between “priority changes”, then I’m afraid Naval is dead to me. Something that’s really sad for me, as I really would like to play and enjoy it, specially after all the time, effort and money I’ve poured into it. I have already barely played these last few months because of the raging issues… but this would be the final nail in the coffin.

This repair mechanic is much worse than the stupid hull chunk mechanic. I am going to stop playing Naval most likely when this update drops with these new repairing changes where it just auto repairs at least 2 things at once as well as the 30 second cooldown to change priority its horrid.

Yes, hull mechanic suck and this repair mechanic too.
Since this year, i nearly stopped Warthunder cause of hull mechanics.
Then addition of missile ships are worst too.
Those are AA missiles, not anti-ship.
You cannot destroy those missiles that are game breaker.

Warthunder naval is drowning

I wonder that Naval playing CC almost not touch new DC changes.
