a fire or hull breach below the waterline? High priority, they are going to act straight away
Same for something like a fire director or main turret, instead they just do anything and everything. Usually in the least helpful order.
So I dont mind that the moment you take meaningful damage like flooding or a fire, that the damage control starts immediately without you pressing anything and I dont mind even that engineers start repairing automatically, but the current system gives you too limited control over that, Heck. Id even like the ability to repair a hull breach to stop more flooding, but not necessarily worry about the flood water straight away if there is something more critical to deal with first.
So I dont mind automation. Its a ship of hundreds, maybe over a thousand souls. Sure its a video game, but there is already enough to worry about in the middle of a battle without having to play an entire mini-game to repair.
What is needed is a balance between automation and dynamic control.
New system fails with that, old system fails with that. What we need is something… else
Has been my problem with repairing tanks since the mode first launched.
I could not care less about my commanders .50 when I am stuck in an open field without a transmission.
Just torp spam every round when this new up update comes out. not being able to fix your ship will sink in quickly, i recommend japanese destroyers with longlances.
Yeah. Insted of givin the control to player, they take it away. Now you are a captain that controls nothing.
Imaging how cool it would be if you could set up the priorities in the repairs. For example canons are the top priority, rangefinder is the #2. The engine is one of the last.
Or even better. Open the ship schematicks in battle and actually order to repair something specific only - how awesome that would be? Insted we have got THIS. Thanks gaijin.
On the contrary. They work faster. And loose the crew faster too.
Because there is always something repaired they will loose crew much faster. With this new shit mechanics ace crew will perform much worse than newbies under the HE shelling.
What we actually need the most right now is for gaijin to NOT touch tanks repair system whatsoever, I have zero confidence that they wouldnt make it objectively worse.
This is a good way to make sure you repair what you want to repair first Why so upset about a needed change. And this mechanic is not on World of Warships or War Thunder Mobile as they have a simple repair tool
In general i felt the new feature wasn’t needed. I feel it will give seasoned players a massive advantage because we know how it works and how it used to work.
I just read auto repairs and think of how easy it will be to permanently disable and melt down an enemy ship. Hard on a new player, easy for those who already play and are established.
And it is not. Its just another thing that will be shoved down the throats of the already very small naval player base because Gaijin wants to arcadize and/or battleroyalize everything to the fastest and lowest possible common denominator, while considering players that are smart enough to manage repairs to their benefit as “unethical exploiters”.
Well, it seems they’ve listened and made it optional! I’m assuming the new system will be the default but I have no clue.
I am a bit wary about this choice being made after the dev server closes. Hopefully it won’t lead to repairs in general being incredibly bugged when the update comes out.
I know I’ll have my work cut out trying to explain which of the two systems is better to new players that’s for sure. And hopefully there won’t be too many drastic changes in the near future, but I expect them to happen anyways.
Two good players from top 30 in naval arcade said me that their K\D dropped because of this new targeting system. So, no. It doesnt help the old players. I personally dont play arcade now because of the system.
